Edge reviews Halo 3.

Now we all understand that Edge are very harsh and they nitpick wherever possible, but they do write the best reviews in the game press and I cant say I've disagreed with many if any of their reviews, and yes this includes Bioshock 8 out of 10.


However for Halo 3 they were obviously going to scruitinise further.

So they scored it.

well all i can say Edge are not what they were years ago when i used to buy the rag and yes they must have been given a back hander total bull that score.
 
Im sorry but no game deserves 10 /10 no matter how good it is.. That essentially saying its the ebst game ever made and cannot be bettered..

But some Halo 4 (if they made one) it would no doubt get the same again. anyway.. it'll never live up to the hype, no game ever does. Especially 10 / 10 hype.

I remeber when they gave GTA 3 7/10 which i tought was a good mark, but i doubt anyone ehre would agree at the time.

No its not.

A 10 score means that its as good as it gets at the time its made.

Otherwise there'd be no point in a score at all.

Gran Turismo got a 10, Zelda OOT got a ten, and Mario 64 got a 10.

Gran Turismo has been bettered countless times since by its own sequels and Forza, are you telling me it didn't deserve a 10 when it was released?

i agree Gran Turismo did deserve 10 but halo3 does not.
 
No i didnt.. i didnt think any of the GT's deserved a 10.. But thats purly subjective. And besides the review stated that "the single player experience is a bit short and somtimes pointlessly repetative" so with 2 negatives against it.. they have already pointed out its "not as good as it gets when its made" .. . 9.8 is fair enough.. but not 10.

Otherwise the review would read "perfect in everyway"

Yes but a 10 doesn't mean perfection, but about as close as you can get to it at the time.

Besides edge only to whole numbers, if it was 9.8 as you say then surely 10 is the number you round it up to.

because its Halo and deep routed MS loathing buying Bungie, cos i remember when it was 1st announced for PC everyone was really looking forward to it, then suddenely MS buys Bungie and makes Halo xbox exclusive then suddenly everyone hates Halo, lol
