FA bottle it spectacularly once again

I'd love to find out what abusive words Clarke used, Rooney (for instance) has used some real beauties and got away with it so Stevie must've used some real gems to end up with a charge:)

they should be carded every single time they bad mouth a ref

am sure its not as bad in other sports , even ones like rubgy played by agrod up big guys

It is very rare that the Player's will bad mouth an official in anyway. Even when the player's have every right to feel mightily aggrieved.

EDIT: In rugby :p

They should be carded for going at the ref. The refs always back pedal. They should stand their ground and if a player touches them get sent off. If they knock the ref over once his stood his ground they should get lengthy bans.

The refs are always running away once the players start coming for them.

They should have stamped out the direct swearing at the ref. If rooney had been sent off two or three times for doing it Sir Alex would make damn sure he learnt his lesson.

Didnt gazza get carded for sniffing the refs pits? Yet Terry gets nothing. Most refs wind me up for trying to be celebs but they should be better protected from players and managers.

He also got yellow carded for picking up the ref's card and waving it at him.
All fans and players want I'd guess is consistency.
JT should've been booked for what he did but he wasn't, it's farcical and simply down to the FA not wanting to undermine the refs, even when they're blatantly wrong:)

Did the FA not take action against JT last time though when he had the spat with the Ref?

I'm trying to remember what that was all about, last season wasn't it?

The referee's certainly shouldn't walk backwards away from play, that doesn't help. They should stand still, then if anything happens just card players.

The rule is that it's supposed to be the players in question and captains of the side and no-one else. If someone else comes, tell them to go away, if they keep coming, book them. However, the Referee should NOT under any circumstances walk away, it shows a massive amount of weakness.

Graham Poll vs Spurs, he accused Poll of saying that 'he'll teach Chelsea a lesson'.

Regarding what Terry done at the weekend, i seem to be the only one not bothered about it; i don't think he was being disrespectful towards the ref or done anything particuarly wrong, it was just a natural reaction (pleading with the ref etc) to what he thought was a poor decision.

Seems like a total cop out to me, foul language is just a joke charge now because it's never applied properly. I'd love to see a ref send off a crowd of players for being abusive, but it'll never happen and unfortunately, without an incident like that things will never change.

Yes they should, and fined large amounts of money.

Look at rugby players, huge guys that weigh in excess of 15 stone (some of them), and anything goes in rugby. Kicking, biting, punching, nad-grabbing, ear twisting, etc, yet when the Referee talks to them, they bloody do as they are told. They don't punch round the referee and start ****** and blinding at the officials when a bad decision is made, they get on with the game like a proper professional.

******* footballers. What dire role models our children have.
