1950pro 512mb better than 7900gt 256mb :) Not by much though, it's not worth spending the money to do a swap per se.

It's good card that will play modern games at high to max settings not on uber res's though. Very good for the money.

For next gen stuff it 'may' struggle, so would consider it for lower resolutions and current games :)

can't argue with the price though just over 120 euros including VAT and 22 euro postage.... not bad....

must be a faulty batch to be selling them this cheap? just scoured the net and ocuk seems to undercut everyone else by a large margin.

Hi there

I take it your joking?

If you really think that we would sell knowingly faulty goods then I am shocked.

If we know a product has problems/issues such as higher than normal RMA rate or the product maybe dodgy then we simply won't sell it.

These X1950 Pro's are absolutely fine, they are made by Triplex, have a Zalman style cooler and they are perfectly reliable and we've been selling these same cards now for over a month with no out of the ordinary issues.

Its just like the Samsung 245B as OcUK is hugely cheaper than every one of our UK competitors on this 24" screen even at our normal none special offer price, when we place it on special offer were generally £50 cheaper than our competitors. Samsung is a reputable brand, we deal direct with them and as such I can't help if I am doing a good job for OcUK getting the deals in and offering our customers some good deals.

Sames goes for the OCZ 6400 CAS4 Revision2 stuff, again were the cheapest in the UK by some margin, also its a similar case on the Asus Striker Extreme WiFi as we are the cheapest again. :)

how come they are so cheap? other sites barly manage to sell the 256mb version at the same price ocuk are doing the 512mb version? man you can;t even get stolen goods that cheap:eek:

It makes the host spout uncontrolled babble and retarded crap.

If you do a search for some of his other posts you'll actually see this is quite an advanced case. :D

card is cheap, what more can be said? must be a reason behind its cheapness. you don;t get discounts like this for no reason at all you know ;)

Hi there

So explain then why OcUK is so much cheaper on the Samsung 24", the OCZ 6400C4 memory and Asus Striker Extreme? Also OcUK has the bargain Leadtek 8800 640MB cards in again and most of our competitors do not. Yes there can always be reasons why something is cheap, but you seem to assume the worse, manufacturers do deals on products for many of reasons and none of those reasons are because the product is dodgy. Simply put OcUK would not buy dodgy product and any manufacturer selling dodgy product will clearly not survive long.

Then some of our competitors will also too have great deals wheras others do not.

Deals come from good work by purchasers, in this case I've done some very good work in sourcing deals on certain products. These X1950 Pro's are one of those and they are perfectly fine and there are many member here who have one.

Bulk buying, deals with the manufacturer and very compitent purchasers working for OcUK. Also probably getting direct from manufacturers also rather than through wholesalers who would add their surcharge and probably why other places struggle to reach this price. Plus it's only a "This Week Only", the normal price of this card is £10 more, and they'll sell more of this card being on offer. It's quite strategic as well in a certain respect, getting people to the OcUK site with a deal like this one and others than they do, which leads them looking at OcUK for more deals and more products that they wish to purchase.

You know Mav, you are a really pessimistic person. :p

There are regulations covering this - I doubt Gibbo would last 10 minutes if he was selling "knocked off" or faulty stock.

Don't criticise - take advantage!
