Been playing for a few days now and i absolutely love this game! great maps, nice selection of classes and it really is the most fun ive had on a game in ages.
So far ive been favouring the heavy class but played as a medic for a few rounds in a row earlier and found that surprisingly rewarding, struck up a partnership with a skilled Pyro and and created absolute chaos :D.
 
FF is to be removed? oh dear thats a game breaker for me. The amount of grenade spamming demomen about lately is irritating. FF would help reduce some of the grenade and rocket spam.

Also it would give medics something extra to think about whilst being joined at the hip with heavys and pyros.
 
Yeah I like being paranoid :)

I'll still be playing the game I guess, just not as regularly and I don't think I'll bother putting any effort into joining a clan.
 
Any stability problem since the update yesterday?

Mine was finally behaving but since last nights update It crashed twice before finally letting me play later in the evening. First crash was on a level change (map never loaded, interface locked up), the second was wierd coz everything jerked around like crazy and then the sound looped and that was that. Hard reset required both times.

Am I write in thinking that this game doesn't like SLI ?

Spec is:

X2 3800+ (Stock at the mo, in case crashing was heat/overclock related)
7800 GT SLI
XP Pro
1680x1050 everything max, 4xAA 8xAF

Oh...and I'm glad FF is off (cant harm your teammates). I was a menace when it was on through SPY paranoia......

My 7950GX2 runs it ok in SLI mode? Have you nHancer installed? Might be worth playing around with the rendering modes to see if they have an impact on the game for you!
 
Valve have confirmed that FF is to be removed from the final version. Just can't get to the sauce of the post because the steam forums are banned at work. They stated that TF2 was never meant to be used with FF on.

Well I got the impression from this that we won't even have an option to turn it on. Which would be very surprising.

I'll take a look at nHancer. Hadn't heard of the tool till you mentioned it.

They only thing I did do which initially helped (before this latest TF2 update) was install the latest beta drivers from NV which have a TF2 SLI profile.
 
Decided to buy this on Wednesday. Not had a chance to play it since due to work etc but it was really good fun. Used to be a die hard fan of TFC until CS came out.

Found it quite overwhelming having to pick a class as they are so different. For example, snipers seem waaaaaay overpowered taking out a heavy weapons guy with 1 headshot. It was fun, would be good if you had the different type of grenedes like before (i.e. scouts had cons and nail bombs). Want to play but just haven't had the time :(

Added option to change Field-of-view, between 75 & 90, from the Options->Multiplayer tab

Added option to disable Player sprays

Fixed flamethrower hit detection

Increased flamethrower damage at point blank range

Demoman grenades (not stickybombs) no longer explode on contact after the first bounce

Fixed a startup crash

Fixed a case where players could get stuck in tc_hydro

Fixed player movement prediction errors

Fixed third-person sniper aim animation not matching player's view exactly

Fixed achievements and stats being awarded when watching other player's demos

Fixed rare server crash due to data corruption in networking

Fixed a case where some sounds had incorrect volumes
 
I'm staying off it tonight but will hammer it again on Sat night, i'm scared of getting TF2 burn-out and overdoing it.

Thats exactly what i did with test drive unlimited. Played the beta non stop from the entire time it was released to when it was closed, then when the full game came out i was a bit....meh :o
 
Interesting to see there was a hit detection bug with the pyro, gonna pop on and see how it looks :) Demo change is also good imho, sounds like it'll still explode if shot straight at a player.
