help regarding a 24 inch monitor (I already own)

I bought the 24inch samsung hoping to have the ps3 hrough the dvi (HMDI cable has a dvi adapter) and the pc through analogue, but ive found analogue to have slightly 'fuzzy' spots on the screen where text appears not as clear (hardly noticeable but I have noticed it). Basically on this screen DVI is gives a much better picture.
I can fix this by having pc on dvi and plugging in the ps3 when I want to use it but I was hoping to have both connected at once.

so..... like on a tv you can have a multi scart adapter that lets you plug in multiple sources and switch to the one you want, is there one available for dvi??

Sounds like the screen isnt syncing up perfectly. What refresh rate do you have set on the VGA card. DVI is generally 'easier' to set up right, but a decent screen should be able to sync up pretty accuratly to the vga input as well.

My Dell 2407 looks perfect on both dvi and analog inputs

Does the screen have any options to adjust clock phase, or even a auto/sync type option/button anywhere, perhaps buried in the menus.

Make yourself a 2x2 pixel bitmap in Paint, with the first row black, white and the second row white, black. Set that as wallpaper on 'tiled' so it repeats many times over the desktop. Now hit the auto adjust (if it has one), or play with clock and phase until it looks right. It won't look right at all if you aren't close to perfectly synced. That's the method I came up with for the slightly variable auto adjust on the Dell 2405FPW, should work for you too (assuming you have the auto adjust or clock/phase options).

cant find any sort of auto sync, does the samsung have one do you know??
How would I set up my vga card refresh rate?

Thats the one dude.

Refresh rates - best way i find is to set that in a program like rivatuner.

You can get switches. I have a vga switch . i/o goes straight to tv and xbox 360 and pc are connected and I just switch between each. I also have a switch for sound to my stereo. Mine are manual but you can get remote ones, more expensive.

as above, you can get a manual switcher(3xhdmi-in + 1 hdmi-out)for about 40 quid. But if its the only other source you want to connect(pc + ps3 only) you can also get a cable with 2xhdmi To 1xhdmi with auto switching built in. this cable is also braided(black), last time i had seen this cable it was about 100 quid, hope this helps m8
