8500 Ballistix problem.

Hello!

I am having trouble getting my Ballistix 8500 to reach 1066mhz.

I have 4gb installed. It is stable at 800mhz at 5-5-5-15 2T timings. The voltage is at 2.2v. And the motherboard I am using is a Asus Striker Extreme. The CPU is overclocked to 3.6ghz with a 1.45v its a Q6850. Everything seems stable and I score 16k+ on 3d marks but would really like to be running my ram at the rated speeds.

If I try 1066mhz I get BSOD before windows loads and sometimes it will not boot up.

Any help is grealty appreciated.

It's guaranteed to run at 1066 5,5,5,15, 2T and 2.2v

If not, RMA time.

I think the 4Gb thing has something to do with it...

Up the chipset voltage abit, because from what i've seen 4Gb lowers overclocks by quite abit, esp if its a weak board anyway

Not exactly sure what you mean by up the chipset voltage. Up the NB?

And any idea what the standard voltage for my motherboard is?

Yeah up the NB voltage a notch or two to give it a boost.

Tried 1.4 1.45 and 1.5 on the NB it refused to boot up all i got was a blank screen

Also they work fine at 1066mhz when there is only 2gb
