I have the ip35 pro and a tuniq tower 120 cooler and for the last few days the cpu fan seems to be at 100% all the time. CPU temps are fine at <30 degC.

Previously i would hear it briefly at beginning of bootup and then it would slow down only speeding up again when the cpu was being used intensively.

I have tried messing with the uguru program both within the bios and windows and have also reset the bios. The fan speed is currently reported as 2100 rpm at the moment (it should be about 540 rpm and silent!)

The noise of it constantly on is really starting to aggravate me!
Any ideas please!

Enter the bios and turn off the shut down & and alarm for the CPU fan. Then power off the board and reconnect the fan to another header i.e. AUXFAN1.

Now go back into the bios uguru> abitEQ> FanEQ control> 1st FANEQ Group> change the AUX1 reference temp to CPU and adjust the high & low settings.

You will now be able to manage the fan speed.

The CPU fan header can only control 4 wire fans. There is a bios option on the standard IP35 to change it from 4 to 3 but not on the PRO.

sorry to hijack your thread yipyipboo,

ive just got the ip35 pro aswell, after eventually getting my 4x1 gig ram to work in it(dunno how).

problem now is my cpu temp just shows 0.0 in the bios and the uguru software:confused:

any ideas guys

I am running the IP35 PRO with water cooling and basicaly Ive got one of my radiator fans plugged into the fan header for the CPU and this is being controled ok.

In that case why has it been okay for the last few months? It was definately under some sort of speed control as it was only speeding up when i played MOH. 20 secs or so after quitting that it would slow down again.

edit: just noticed on page 1-7 in the manual in mentions selecting 'cpu fan type', but this doesn't actually feature in the bios (if it is I can't find it!).

Not sure why that is in the manual for the Pro version. As it refers to the IP35 as I mentioned before.

I can't explain why it was working before or why it stoped working.

Hi Sean

Did what you suggested but the fan still seems to be at full speed. Have I set it up correctly?

In an effort to curb the noise I have fitted the rheostat that came with the tuniq tower. The lowest it sets the fan to is 1020rpm according to uguru, and all is quiet again :p

Can anyone recommend a 120mm fan suitable for fitting in the cooler that can be controled by the motherboard? Would something like this be suitable?
