Guys , yes I am a noob .

I have currently been dual booting

I am trying to re-install Vista and i am having mucho problemo . It went to a Bsod just at it was finalising .

I have 2 hard drives on my rigg , 1 for XP which is working fine and 1 for Vista which i am having problems in .

Under Xp my drives are listed under my computer as

Local Disk C , which has XP on it
Local Disk D , which has Vista on it

Now can I format all of drive D ( the one with Vista ) whilst booted into XP ?

If not how would I totaly format the drive for a fresh install , when i tried to install Vista earlier it gave me no option to wipe the drive as it said it would put them files elsewhere .

Im confused , please help

Hi,

No, you cannot format it while in Windows XP, as there are Windows files on the D: drive and it won't let you format it.

What you need to do is;

1.Put the Vista disc into the pc, boot from it. (BIOS option, first one, boot from CD Rom)
2. Once it's finish loading, click Install Now
3. Enter your key and go to next step.\
4. Select the drive with vista on it in the list
5. Click drive options from the bottom tab
6. format.
7. install

;)

Hope that helps.

you will find you can delete partition from C/disk with XP as your op system.

go to "computer" and right click and go to manage> and then disk management> right click on your D/ drive and then choose your option> delete partition, then reformat afterwards
