My mate stacked his VX220 on Friday.

Wet road, coming off a roundabout onto a left-hander, accelerating steadily through 45ish, tail steps out, corrects but over does it, tail steps out the other way fast as you like and then he's collecting a tree and a ditch!

It might t-cut out but Thorney reckon it'll be a right-off.

I'm a bit surprised he got caught by it actually as he's a very good driver. He's fully admitting it's totally his own fault, no one and nothing to blame but him however he did say on inspection that the road surface felt slick underfoot so no wonder he lost traction. That and the fact that he was on the way to TMS to get a new set of front tyres put on!

:( not cool. and i want to get a vx220 next summer but i'm terrified of doing the above!

Are they ditchfinder specials though?
Not especially - RE040s so decent enough in the wet if you're careful (although this occurance might say otherwise!).

I drive like a granny in the Elise in the wet so hopefully it wont happen to me!

Can only report what he said to me. It's a bit difficult from the posted photos to make any judgement about whether they were legal or not so I'll go with what he told me and the coppers judgement of them.

You dont need to drive like a true Granny, just think about the cars balance and try looking/thinking in advanced.

Could this be because they are not in the right frame of mind for a MR car?

yup, going from a shopping trolly to something MR is a steeeep learning curve, hence you get a lot of binned MR2s etc cos people havent a clue what a to do with them.... half the people out there cant even change a wheel, how are they meant to know how to drive an MR car properly

no point buying it if you dont know what youre doing lol (IMO)
