or one of the other big discount type car brokers?

Looking to purchase a new car in the next few weeks and they seem to have quite a good deal on it. But don't list all of the options I neeed.

I'm not an expert or well read in this area but are these guys reliable? There website looks distinctly amateur. I've dealt with muppet companies who claimed to be able to offer discounted brand new Focus ST's before when they were calling my former boss. They all turned out to be a bunch of cowboys essentially just looking to take your deposit and run. May be a totally different thing I don't know....

ive heard there name crop up more than once

never actually spoke to anybody that used them though. but its certainly not a con website.

My understanding is that these are brokers and you don't actually pay them anything, they just gather prices from dealers who are looking for customers below the rrp, they match the two up and after that you deal direct with the dealer.

I bought a TT back in 2002 from oneswoop and had no problems and that car was coming from germany, so i'm of a mind not to deal directly with a dealer again.

I believe drive the deal have been around for a long time despite there cack looking website.

Anyways I'm looking for a new civic Type S GT CDTI with a lot of options ticked so was hoping to get a quote of one of these brokers and then use it to try and get a similar deal with a local dealer, though if that doesn't work I'd be happy to order further afield. It seems quite hard to get much off civics at the moment so any bit of assistance will help.

Bought my BMW 535D through them and yes they are reliable.

Like pinkaardvark says you don't actually pay them anything, they take your details, find you a dealer and pass your details on to them, the dealer will take the deposit. After placing an order through them they will ring your to confirm the specs and a few days later you will get a call from the dealer. If you need to change any specs though you need to go via drivethedeal who will then pass the details on to the dealership.

Perfectly reliable and if you must buy a new car - rarely sensible except in a few isolated cases - make sure you do it via a broker.

Oh the scorn!

It's a business purchase, I run my own company these days and the ammount of miles I do I need a reliable diesel, plus with the discounts available versus the hefty prices asked for 1-2 year old cars it makes sense for me to buy new in this case.
