they have to cut the roof off the pug to get the kit to fit. looks pretty scary under the fibreglass bodywork.

That's very, very good as far as replicas go, but it's still gayer then Dale Winton in a fairy dress.

Replicas make me want to set fire to my face.

Surely you'd feel like a turkey when you pull up in your flash Ferrari, stop, open the door and.... oh look, everyone can see your Peugeot interior.
Im guessing you wouldnt, as 90% of the people out there wont know the difference.

What about things like Ac Cobra replicas? Or Lotus 7 kit cars?

But those types of replica's have a genuine purpose ... because the original cars can't be purchased new anymore. And also you can bet a AC Cobra or 7 replica's driver won't be driving around with an undeserving self sense of accomplishment ;)

For me a replica needs to be, well, a replica.

For me a fwd, front engined 200hp cruiser, in whatever skin, is not nearly a replica of a mid engined rwd 400+bhp supercar.

If it was a kit car replica using an LS2 or something in the boot and I'd say "wow, that's impressive" but not a pug in wolfs clothing

this is more what I'd call a replica

Seems to me theres two reasons you'd ever own a Ferrari

1) You want to be seen in a Ferrari.

2) You are a driving enthusiast and want to drive a Ferrari.

The former is a sad reason to spend money and the very reason why a car worth 2k tops with (admittedly good) replacement bodywork sold for 19k.

The latter is a good reason to own a Ferrari and why a subscriber of reason 2 would NEVER spend 19k on a replica.

Funny how there are loads of pics and comparisons on their website, but lacking any audio clips to totally give away that it is Pug which has been mullered with a sledge hammer and then had substandard plastic trim glued to the outside.

Why do people bother, I laugh at any 355 reps I see, they just stand out and scream *****

Funny thing is with these replicas is that the engine note is so distinctive on Ferraris that you'd be shown up as a fraud *everywhere*

Oh, and the roof line is too high for a Ferrari - major giveaway.

Replicas are all well and good until you are required to show off their performance. I suspect it sounds loud but nothing like a Ferrari.

If I owned it I would be living in dread for the day a 5 series puts his foot down next to me and shows it up for what it is. Embarrising.
