Hopefully im allowed to do this...

Got my driving test this morning, and was out looking at cars to buy... i have a £3000 budget give or take a few quid. I saw a renault clio 1.2, 16v, 5door, 2002 for £3150. This includes 6 months tax, years MOT, a full service etc. I can just about stretch to this and it is the ideal car i was looking for, and in very good condition. I was just wondering if this was a good price? It is through a dealer, i dont want to go privately to be honest so yea, what do you think?

Sorry if im not supposed to post this... or if its meant to be in another forum...

insurance is fine, parents take care of that. Think the quote was very reasonable, at least compared to my brothers insurance (2 years ago). About half of that...

Do a quick check on autotrader, what prices do other Clios of the same engine etc. fetch/ask?

If they ask loads more, snap it up, if they ask loads less, avoid it. :)

i wish it was as simple, i have done lots of research... in auto trader they sell them anywhere from 2500 to 3500...

Ive also looked on www.parkers.co.uk . They say that a good private car of that spec is around 3100, a dealer is 500-800 more.

But again i dont know if this is up to date or reliable...
