hi i have been using riva tuner to overclock my 2900 pro , core is 852 mem 961 stable everything maxed in WIC dx10 24 frames average in benchmark test , using cat 7.9 without the patch , i cant down load 3d mark yet as bt is still crapping around with my braodband!

but has anyone tries to flash card with a xt bios?

NO need to risk a bios update when you have the clocks that most XT owners have trouble hitting with any decent stability.;)

I'd be tempted to flash one tbh specially when it means you dont have to faff about with ocing software anymore. Just as I flashed my X1900XT to XTX. :)

Your 2900 Pro can get 852/961? I've been murked! My XT wont hit those speeds without dying a painful 10 second death.

I did read on that Nordic forum that the 2900 pros have a lower core voltage. Why oh why isn't there at least a 2900 bios reader let alone an editor for these 2900's :( (or is there?)

I wouldn't trust that overclock completely. Download the ati whiteout demo and try it at those clocks.

My XT did 860 / 985 and ran 3dmark06 looped fine. However i got some corruption when running the demo. F.E.A.R. would also crash after about 20mins of gaming.

I don't think looped 3dmak06 is a good indicator of stability.

Bump, anyone flashed theirs yet? Just got mine!

Meh, couldn't resist:o

It's a pretty simple procedure. I used the same method I used with my 9800 when I flashed it to a PRO. Atiflash.exe -f -p 0 newbiosname.rom

:)

well, afaik you can grab an xt bios out of a Xt fairly easily, but no tools can edit them at the mo, only ati are giving out bios's with increased voltage and are seemingly only doing it for overclockers they give cards to and having them sign nda's to not release them. which is an utter slap in the face tbh, let overclocking twits doing suicide runs have free hardware and the bios's, but not let me, whose paid for the card, access to the bios's so i can increase my overclock for actual gaming. its the one thing ati have done to really **** me off.

now you can't edit the bios, but can you check what your current 3d voltage is Tim, has it changed up to 1.2v, a lot of people are showing lower core voltage on the pro's. so you'd think if someone could hit 850/950 ish with the lower voltage a XT voltage should go further on the core at least, with decent cooling. but its possible flashing an xt bios might just change the name and how its recognised, and not change anything else.

if they change the voltages then yeah, buy up those pro 1gb's, flash an xt bios and overclock the bejusus out of them with silly high bandwidth(are the pro 1gb's ddr4 actually, i haven't noticed).
