Tell me about - Supra twin turbos

if you are getting a TT then make sure it is a UK one, the spec is far better than JDM ones, much better turbo's, bigger injectors, bigger brakes, and i'm told on good authority that they can be tuned to nearing 500bhp on a totally standard engine/turbo setup, which is astonishing if it's true.

I've loved these for quite some time, always wanted a UK model though, just being picky I suppose, they're getting quite rare nowadays, lots of imports about though. I used to frequent an owners club (mkIV i think or something). Very useful place! Anyway I ended up getting the octy vRS as I didn't know where i'd be parking... which is a bit silly!

Now I look at them again...a lot cheaper than a 350Z and a bit faster i'd hope! Quite a few at the members club got the leather interiors re-done, they looked spanking nice then!

Damn.. I want one!

Saw the supra owners club day at santa pod this day when we were setting up for central RS day. Even the ones claiming huge power were not actually all that quick. Nice looking cars, but I always think a supra owner can't afford a skyline........

Skylines start from £2k, where do people come up with this rubbish

What a bizzare statement, they are completly different cars. Also, depending on the Skyline in question, they aren't actually any cheaper. And TT Supras are a lot quicker than many Skyline varients too.

Indeed. Some chap on the owners forum thing swapped over lots of gear'y stuff from a written off manual to a targa to make it manual, think he went and sold it then, would be superb!

im pretty sure there was.. as a friend of mine has a silver one.. but ill have to check if its had a engine swap at sometime. theres a few kicking about for sale also.

Oh, and if thats true, what does it make an Escort owner? ;)

Vastly better looking cars than the Skyline IMO, and unless you are buying it purely for drag racing, what does it matter? You aren't going to be able to use the full performance of either a TT Supra or a Skyline for more than a few seconds on most UK roads anyway.

Personally I prefer the Skyline. It just looks harder then the Supra

You can't really compare a £5k 93-98 Supra with a £35k 98-02 Skyline, can you? I think Dogbreath was saying in comparison to similar cars, so thats the Supra versus a tatty R33 GTS with TOYO stickers all over it.
