Peripheral maker Fanatec has revealed new information on its gaming wheel for the PC and PS3 licensed by Porsche known as the "Porsche 911 Turbo S Nordschleife Edition". There are reportedly two versions with the limited one coming complete with a 1GB USB thumb drive which features the same design as the key of a Porsche. The wheels will be going on sale during mid December for a price of around $350 USD.

• Original Porsche 911 Turbo S steering wheel design
• Licensed by Porsche Lizenz- und Handelsgesellschaft mbH
• Authentic metal Porsche logo on wheel
• Hand stitched leather wheel manufactured according to Porsche quality standards
• Compatible with PC and Playstation 3 (all games which support ForceFeedback wheels)
• 6+1 Speed H-pattern gear stick with realistic shifting feel
• Additional exchangeable sequential gear stick included
• Wireless pedals with + 100 hours battery life time (low battery warning on display and optional power supply cable for simulators)
• Realistic clutch pedal with declining resistance
• Pressure sensitive brake emulation with soft-stop
• Gear sticks are interchangeable and can be mounted on the left or right side
• Turning angle can be adjusted in the wheel to 900°, 360° or 180° or in 1° steps by software

keep everything in place. Integrated nuts allow the strong fixation on a gaming cockpit
• For Playstation: Attachable lap wings and the attachment of the gear sticks to the wheel allow comfortable game

• Illuminated button symbols switch automatically between PC and Playstation

• Additional 2 Force Feedback actuators in the wheel simulate motor vibrations

Looks nice price a bit steep though (still want it though) Edit even though I spelt Porsche wrong DOH!

Jeez thats kinda expensive

if i was going to spend that much on a wheel i would buy a G25 and still have enough to buy a game or two.

although i would need to buy a ps3 first lol

OMG I would love one (but not for that price)

Would be great to get the thumb drive out and jus leave it in the office somewhere to fool people - (too expensive a reason though)

We just need more 'full' driving games for the PS3, then it might be worth considering, the way things are going it'll be 18 months before a game arrives that 'deserves' the wheel..

Apart from F1, there isn't anything but 'demos'...

GT:HD - Poor excuse for a demo, replays look cool, shame about the rest
GT5 Prologue - An expensive demo, lets pray to the gods that the physics are OK enough to compensate for the fact it's a limited demo

then lets see.. I'll hazard a guess at releases

Jun 08 - GT5: Prologue Extreme - Another expensive Demo, with 2 extra cars and an extra track
Nov 08 - GT5: Almost there - The game starts to play like a racing game to match the lovely looking replays
May 09 - GT5: Hang in there - We promised the earth, and by the clever use of 2d tress/track furniture/scenery/spectators/grass/track/sky/clouds we are just 6 months off the most awesome game in existance, no honestly, we say when the next gen race games 'start'..
Nov 09 - GT5: The full game - Stupendous looking game, using all the above tricks, this looks almost photo realistic, unfortunately like GT3/4/5P someone forgot that the actual gameplay needs to be good for it to be a good game, but did we say it's phot realistic, wow, those replays, it's like watching TV, No damage, no high frequency physics, no dynamic anything, but it accelerates/brakes and goes around rail like corners, but did I mention the photo realistic replays?

AS you can guess, I am fed up with GT 'X', it'll have been in development for 5-6 years before we get a full version, and it'll look good through the clever use of trickery, hailed as the greatest looking game ever, but play like poo...
In the meantime we'll have 2 HD Forza's and 3 HD PGR's on the 360, not quite as pretty, but awesome fun with every dynamic effect in the book.. oh, but the replays only look 'ok', and the ashtrays in the in car view have jaggies, so it'll get slated on the forums...

Bring on the damn driving games that deserve such a nice wheel, and I'll buy one Sony!...

And yes, I am a disgruntled PS3 owner, sucked in by the promise of games, and disappointed with the lack of proper racing games, I love Sega/Dirt, but they are uber arcade, and don't need a wheel..

i dont recall sony saying that GT5 would be available in 07... most games have been scheduled to appear in 08 for a good while now!

FFVIII, GT5, MGS5 etc...

edit;

OP - does this mean i need to buy a Porsche jacket to complete the look,.

Only if you want to be laughed at! (Joey on friends springs to mind) Think the price is high because of the Porsche license though, be nice if they did a non license version for about $150-200 i would get one !

Im not a fan of Porsches but im thinking of getting this to replace my G25 which just Packed in now :(.
I really liked the G25 for the dual motor good ness, One for vibration, and one of extreme FFB, as a result the feeling of the wheel was amazing, (something that single motor can never achieve)

This wheel has 3 FFB motors.. now im not saying realism is based on the number of motors, but im getting it will be better than the G25, Im going for it.

And here it says 300 euros.. surely this doenst mean 300 pounds..

EDIT, just ordered it, it was 230 pounds..with delivery to GB
