Nvidia Geforce Go 7400 (Sony) Drivers

I'm unfortuate to have a sony vaio laptop with the above graphics card, but typical sony haven't updated this driver for months.

Any ideas where I can get the latest drivers from?

You will need to download the latest nvidia driver package and the corresponding modified .inf file for your graphics card (both on the above site). The modified .inf lets you install the latest desktop nvidia drivers on laptops.

Yeah, you'll be crippling yourself if you stick with whatever drivers the manufactuer punts out.

Nope because they don;t support a lot of laptop cards unless you are lucky.

They won't even let you install. That's why you need sites like the one linked to where the have modified the inf file so it installs/works with the laptop card.

You can get massive boosts in performance by updating the drivers. I know cause I did it on my gf's sony laptop. Sony hadn't listed an updated nvidia driver for over 2 years despite Nvidia releasing about 18.

So did you find some decent drivers? I've not updated my sony's 7400 in a year

I tried the 163.71's today but the powermizer <sp?> settings were totally screwed, was always clocking back to about 100mhz just as I was needing the GPU to do something, regardless of if it was on or off or if it was plugged in or not.
Went back to 163.67's which have been alright for me for the last few weeks.
