7600GT SLi Vs X1800XT

Just a quick question, i have 7600GT 256MB x2 SLi and am wondering if these two together are quicker than a single X1800XT 512mb?

I have all 3 cards, but dont want the hassle of benching them in my PC if someone knows the answer

before you say it, sell them and get a 8800GTX ect

The 7600GT SLI _should_ be faster (where SLI is supported) than a single x1800XT... but its a tough call... if you include the disadvantages in performance where SLI isn't properly supported or not even supported at all the x1800XT would be the winner... but in 3D Marks 06, etc. the 7600GT SLI should win out.

yeha in 3dmark it should but the x1800xt will probably win in most games even with SLi enabled!

SLI 7600Gt' are equal to a single 7900GT which is a little faster than the X1800XT

whats the rest of your spec? seen most SLI 7600GT's hit 7000+ in 3D06

yeah that score is good

You loose out in 3dmark06 because of the CPU tests.

I've hit ~4200 on my spec that you could have viewed in my sig before the mod's ruthlessly removed it for being a line too big!:
e2160 @2.63
single 7600GT @ 680/2670
Asrock 4Core

EDIT - I'm undergoing volt modding my card to try and hit 700+ on the core. My aim is to get Bioshock playing well and get ~4500 in 3D06.

Finally got round to swapping out the two 7600GT's.

I benched the X1800XT, 3dmark06 = 4288

The two 7600GT in SLi were 3850

well there ya go

X1800 scores seems right but the 7600GT score is low... I get almost that with a single 8500GT and slightly under 3000 with a single 6800 Ultra.

Tho that is on an overclocked E6600 which boosts it a bit.

There is something not right there i get 4600 3ds mark 06 with 2 6800 gs in SLI

Put that down to CPU bottleneck the lowest 76GT SLI score I've seen was ~6000 and highest ~7000 depending on CPU/GFX clocks. Have you tried OC'ing the gfx cards? mine do ~680/1700 on air using stock volts (I have a Zalman VF900-cu and a pencil on my desk just wating patiently for a multimeter to join them...)
