Well to be honest Sony have to do something to try and sell consoles, I was reading today that 55% of their sales came in the first 4 weeks, not sure how that compares to the 360 but the article seemed to be mocking it so guess it can't be too good.
PS3 doesn't have enough games out atm

I really wish people would stop saying the PS3 has no games out, here's a quick list from a UK retailer, there may be more available than this
or can be had on the 360.
So the entertainment value of being able to watch/listen to high quality film isnt worth anything? What bs.
It would also be great if the same could happen with Blu-ray / HD-DVD but I doubt it will happen.
Several players will be coming to the market soon.
Samsung is one brand thats bringing dual format
Yes I know but would either Sony and MS agree to use a ROM drive like this in their consoles?
Ideally we only need one HD format but with the manufacturers devided, getting them to all agree on one format will be a task and a half.
Ok and while they are at it why not make it also play "wii" games too?
I think Sony will be making a huge mistake in the UK if they offer no kind of BC at all - even a complete software emulator would be better than nothing
Software emulation is quite simply rubbish (look at 360 emulation, or the PS2's PS1 emulation), it's hardly worth bothering with.
You can pick up a PS2 for £90 brand new and will be able to for a few years yet, but then again who doesn't already have a PS2? if you're buying a PS3 it's pretty much a guarantee that you've had a PS2 before it.
What relevance does that have on the format war and to what I've been saying about the two HD technologies?
And now people are getting a Blu Ray top spec player for free, wanna price one of those seperate? Its still a bonus for the consumer even if their not big movie watchers. Same goes for movie lovers that arnt big gamers eh. Bargin both ways imo.
As for just knocking the price off the 60gb/80gb etc
Id assume several things, reports that it might only have 2xUSB sockets, could be a possibility, wifi more than likely will still be included and the fact thats its manufactured soley at a different plant possibly by a different contractor.
Such a deal between Sony and a manufacturer would have agreed unit prices and more than likely costing less than the ones Sony have used for the 60gb/80gb models.
Ha Ha reduced manufacturing costs combined with new SKU = reduced selling price = buy one if your interested but felt the original prices were to high.
