Hi Guys,

Having problems with my pc stuttering, looks like it could be my graphics card,

What software can i use to monitor its temps and also what aftermarket cooler fits on the 8800GTS.

I use AtiTool to monitor and overclock mine. You can bring up a 3D cube to stress the card and monitor temps.

The stock cooler is generally highly regarded. I haven't seen many people have issues with it. I wouldn't know which 3rd party cooler to recommend, mine sits very cool using the stock cooler.

What sort of problems are you having exactly?

If your card is getting to hot, then their's a problem with the card. The stock cooler shuld be doing its job. When you bought the card your not expected to buy anaftermart cooler to keep it running cool.

The dog's nuts is the Thermalright HR-03-PLUS

Will that fit the GTS though? thought it was GTX only?

stickroad.

Whats happening is,

i can play wow for say an hour with no issues, then the game will slow down, the sound will stutter, but everything will keep going, if i alt tab out, i can drag windows around and such, but their lagging big time.

Now i know its not the mem, or cpu temp problems.
Quad xeon 3210 @ 3.2ghz under water and hits 55c tops using core temp and intel tat.

Now i thought it was my aging psu, s12 seasonic s12 so replaced that with 700 watter and all appeared ok. But an hour later and the issue is back.

Note the card isnt over clocked and is about 9 months old, POV 8800GTS 640mb ram.

Is there a vista version of AtiTool?

The version i downloaded says no driver or such present :(

cheers for that dude, hey been a while.

well decided to re-install 64bit vista, as it just hit me, im running 4gb with 32bit vista installed (trying it out with windows home server) thats the only thing that i have changed recently.

I wonder if it could be problem addressing my ram with the 32bit version for some odd reason.

Temps of the graphics card when using ntune and the stability test never went above 61c weird thing was it started off the test normally then all sped up then slowed down to normal speed at the end lol.

Not helping me much like though is it, no errors in the event logs nowt.

Nope, it's listed as 8800 GTS/GTX only :D

I'm so tempted to get one of these soon but I think it comes fanless so will need a fan to boot to :(

Not cheap but the best never is.......
