Anyone else really not liking Fifa 08?

Yep agree with all the above.

I thought it was being rubbish but opposing defenders win everything and when the oppo attack you can spend hours running alongside them and not get the ball. They seem to have it glued and they not even using pace control.

Building attacks is a sloooooooooow thing now for me and the only way of scoring. The chances of scoring from a cross are much improved buthte through ball, from working 95% in 07 it works 0% in 08 now. ALWAYS a defender in the perfect interception position. Even me as Chelsea v Accrington they had 55% possesion and passed rings around me. Somethign wrong there.

Played PES08 and that seems too arcadey for me in comparison. I need somethign inbetween :( roll on 09 :D

Ill persevere with Fifa for now and try and improve. It may just be a learning curve.

PS the "Be a Pro" addition is inspired if a little limited on 360
 
hm, i might give it another go, but i know i will just end up getting frustrated and waving my fists about, lol.
 
I do agree - in my opionion it is similar to Forza 2, what i mean is that it feels like an "effort" to play it - rather than fun?

It is very slow i will say that.
 
Can you not turn up the speed? I swear you could do this in older fifas, dont know if this is the same.

I do agree though, the speed for me killed it and i wont be getting it.
 
The most annoying thing I find is how weak the shooting is sometimes. The ball just floats through the air and it never feels like any of your shots have any power behind them.
 
I am not too impressed either, agree with most of the points already made, and also mention the lack of a whistle when the ball goes out of play I know its a small thing but it really gets on my nerves that such a simple thing is not in the game, and off course no ref or linesmen at all, until he books you, which is naff in this day and age. It feels more like a game of chess than football to me, there is no attacking flair, the defenders are way too overpowered in Legendary mode and its easier to pass the ball around the Runcorn defence than try and take them on, even when your Barcelona. The AI is not very impressive to me either, seems very rigid and I hate when a pass is a few feet too short yet the AI just stands there and looks at it, as the defender comes running from 5 feet away to get the ball.

Indeed. I can't stand *** unresposiveness of your own players. Playing Fifa 08 is like playing all the boring bits that make up a 90 minute real match rather than the exciting bits. In my opinion when you play a computer game with 10-15 minute matches you should be playing all the exciting bits and all the chances that would happen.

I realise they have gone for realism, but the trouble is, is that you find yourself playing the tedious mistakes,back and forth midfield play that makes up a match instead of the moments of brilliance.
