Currently got a 7900GTX and will be buying a BenQ FP241W today. Just wondering if a boggo EVGA GTS will do fine, or would I better with the super clocked one?

Or haven't I got a hope in hells chance and should settle for a GTX? Budget is pretty much £500 but I don't want to pay for something that I don't really need!

Games I play:

BF2
C&C 3
Bioshock

Of course Crysis when it comes out.

The 24" LCD really will require a 8800GTX tbh, a 640 gts will struggled with certain titles on a 24" LCD ....unless you clock it to within an inch of its life!.

Cheers mate. Is it worth paying the extra for a EVGA one? There's a big price difference between OCUK value one and an EVGA one.

I'd say no, there's a warranty that should do fine on the OcUK and they clock more or less the same as the other cards. And really, i'd like to stress that you really should overclock, it's so easy now, and gives great results on an 8800.

For the games you are playing currently the 320 GTS will be fine. I use one on my 24".

Future high end games I suspect even the mighty GTX wont cut it.

1 Year Warranty on the OcUK 8800GTX. . . would be a sucker if it breaks down after the warranty fails, although most people I presume upgrade their cards every 18 months or so anyway.

I bought an OCZ 8800GTX with transferable lifetime warranty for less than £300, hopefully will help it keep an higher price on resale.

Tis interesting cos my housemate has the 320mb gts and his 24" screen doesn't bring sup com to it's knees!

He's got an e6600 ~ 3ghz or so I think and it doesn't seem to slow down majorly at all - even during rather large battles and I know he has the settings up a fair way !

But yea the 8800 gtx would cut through that resolution nicely :)

I might have a look in the members market. Can't order till next week now anyway

You could always get a 8800 GTS 640Mb with 112 stream processors?

SHould be about half way performance wise between a 8800 GTS and a 8800 GTX
