no i havent done anything wrong, just last haloween me and my friends were out (i was 15 at the time), the police stopped us and gave us a little yellow slip (a caution/warning) each (even though i think they were just community officers). THis was almost a year ago, and im just curious will i still be on their records at all?

Probably.

And if they are anything like the cops round here - they will cross-reference the info they have on you and somehow manage to cut/paste your name/address to some serial killers details on file by accident.

In a few years time they will have you down as a suspect for something or sell your details onto some other govenment body - thats when the fun starts.

;)

They may have a record that you were searched, but it'll proably just be a tick box on the computer system.

Why do you want to know btw?

Probably, i'm still on their bs records for having alcohol in a public place becuase im underage. What a stupid thing to get put on their records for.

Dam police. They need to be catching real criminals, not teenagers.

Ever considered the fact that regular underage drinkers could turn out to be offenders later on in life?

The police are well within their right to stop you breaking the law, because, who knows.. it might deter some people to stop doing it, and ultimately make their job easier in the future ;)

so do you reckon when i was searched, they would have kept some sort of record? Even though no one had anything on them that they shouldnt have or anything.

But you are a criminal. You broke the law.

Depends..

If it was an official caution then it's not unlikely. I thought they got wiped after 3 years if you were under 18 anyway? Not sure on that, I'm no judge.

I'd imagine so, yes, but all it would say is that you were searched, and found not to be doing anything wrong or carrying anything you shouldn't have been.

I was sleeping on the streets/in fields for a few weeks on and off, and got stopped (well, generally woken up) countless times by police. They never actually searched me, but filled in a little form every time to note that they'd stopped and spoken to me, and I guess all of these will be recorded somewhere in a file. Generally they were just stopping to see if I was ok, after a call from a dog walker about seeing a body lying in a field or such (Homeless person in affluent east anglian market town shocker!), and were always very pleasant about it. You see everything they're writing as they do it and before you sign, and get a copy of everything on the little slip they give you.

So, yes, they'll probably have a record that you were stopped/searched, but if they didn't find anything, I can't see why that'd be a problem...?

It was still stupid just me and a few friends we wasn't causing a scene or being loud, and 3 police cars come all in csi style. There was really no need.

but i didnt break the law lol i just got a little slip, then a few days later got a letter in the post saying -my name- has been searched, but -someone who was with me's name- didnt do anything wrong. so they completed ******* it up lol.

Haha no, this was down in Essex, and apparently a little bit of a surprise for a number of residents of the Saffron Walden area..

I don't even go outside up here during the winter period :p

Once again: Yes, they will have a record of you, I should think - but a record that says you've done nothing wrong. What's the problem?
