Hi there, a friend who has this car needs to fill up his washer fluid, i think we have located it on the left back of the engine bay, close to the suspension turret.

The pipe located here has a white filter on the top of it, however the cap for it is missing. Is this the correct funnel, or is it elsewhere?

Thanks tom.

Thats correct, to be on the safe side though i would just check all the other fluids and rule out each one :p

This is the engine bay of my 530i. The 520i has an identical engine bay, as it also uses the M54 engine (Albeit an M54B22, but they look the same).

The washer filler funnel is behind the DSC control unit, which is the thing with all the stickyouty looped metal bits (I'm so technical), and beside the left hand suspension turret.

cheers, much appreciated.

you have 2 washer bottles on an e39
to the left of the DSC unit goes your intensive screenwash.
This is concentrate, I usually fill it up with my holts screenwash at a very strong dilution and the regular washer bottle ifill at the reccommended dilution rate.

The intensive bottle (has a red tag on it) is used when you push the button on the wiper stalk gives you a good blast and washing of the screen.
