Hi. Looking to buy myself a new CPU, Mobo, Ram and a CPU cooler. It will all be going into a PC7 just for size. What i want is Quad Core, 2gb of ram or more if possible. Im not interested in SLI and id like it to be as quite as poss :D. Also the budget is £300. Hopefully keeping it on the dot 300.

Thanks Crossy

sli is pointless atm tbh, if you want quad core u really want a p35 board so thats crossfire only

Sorry, wrong link and price.
I'm sure that the setup that you want is not available at 300 pounds.
This is already very cheap. Your cpu cost almost 200 pounds so, that leaves not much for the rest.

^ Not quad core.

Q6600 non G0 as it's cheaper, the 2GB OCZ on TWO, Gigabyte P35 in clearance and the best cooler you can afford. The G0 is however worth the difference in price, it clocks better and run cooler with a higher max temp.

I would give an exact price but OcUK won't load.

Later you can add this cooler, and the overclock of the quad can reach around 3.2 with load temps of 57 a 60 degrees

The G0 would be ok up to around 2.8 at a guess, I wouldn't bother trying with a B3 stepping.

Edit: Do not get the Zalman, it is far from the best cooler available.

I don't know about that, i've got it myself, put it in other systems, ok it's a bit expensive, but temps on the q6600 are very good, never over 60. 2x orthos stress test at 3.2 Ghz

The Thermalright Ultra and the Ultra extreme are better at cooling, as is the Tuniq tower. The Ninja matches its cooling but with lower speed fans. I think all but the Ultra extreme are cheaper so I wouldn't recommend it personally.
