Royal Mail Strike Action

As said, till wednesday

Royal Mail said:
The Communications Workers Union (CWU) has announced further strike action. Two 48-hour strikes are planned. The first will begin at lunchtime on Thursday 4th October and ends at lunchtime on Saturday 6th October. The second will begin in the early hours of Monday 8th October, ending in the early hours of Wednesday 10th October.

This will be followed by an unspecified programme of weekly strikes, starting week commencing October 15th, until the resolution of the dispute.

Congratulations to Blockbuster who are sending me an extra DVD so I'll have enough to watch over the strike period. I now have 4 instead of 3.

A nice touch I thought :)

I work for Royal Mail.

Those of you who say things like 'Royal Mail are idiots for striking!!!11!' blah blah blah, do you really think that Royal Mail WANT strike action to happen? They are trying to modernize but the stupid Communication Workers Union are holding them back from doing so and its their fault that all this ridiculous strike action is going on.

Royal Mail offered a reasonable pay increase but the CWU reject that and demand more without actually asking what the workers think of it. They're a bunch of retards.

On the plus side, I will have bugger all work to do when strike action is going on :p

The following organisations are an absolute joke in order of disgracefulness ...

1. The UK Government
2. Royal Mail
3. National Rail
4. British Gas
5. BT

Who else can see the connection here? (Number 1 is a clue)

Stupid question but will I still be able to pick up a parcel from the collection office?

Royal Mail me off

It's an embarrassment now with all these strikes, missing post and branch closures left, right and centre.

What has BT got to do with the government? Apart from, of course, the government applying crippling restrictions on how it operates in the market?

on topic, I fully support the RM strike. I've been a relief postie before and while it's not skilled, it's damn hard work a lot harder than sitting in an office with your finger in your ass

It was your choice. If you didn't like it do something else.

What happens if everyone thinks like that. They would lose all there trained employees. Postal delivery wouldn't be as prompt and more would go missing. It would also cost RM loads to train new guys up.
