So my mind got carried away today after seeing a friends new VTR I was reasonably impressed got me thinking (they can also be picked up for peanuts with decent spec). The Focus is nice but as for sporty well it's there is practically nothing sporty about the car all be it very practical though but I feel it may possibly be too much car for my needs at times. Just curious what others experiences are with these cars and wheather its advisable. TBH I most likely won't get one it's just my mind getting carried away, It would obviously be the 1.6 120BHP version I would consider. Nothing less. Opinions?, Thoughts?

It might be faster, but it will feel like a tin can in comparison to the Focus.

What about handling surely the VTR is going to be nicer. The VTR was one of the cars I was considering last year but eventually plumped for the Focus. I believe the VTR's are fairly unreliable so that puts me off a bit. Saying this though I have had a multitude of little niggles with the Focus in 10 months of ownership.

That's the Saxo VTS :)

I thought there was something wrong when i was reading that too!

They are a fun little car (VTS), some people don't like the pedal positions. they do have an image problem being a favourite of the boy racer brigade but if you get over that they can be quite entertaining.

It depends what you want. If it's thrills, then the VTR/VTS would be better. If it's reliability and comfort then stick with the Focus.

Being a student I don't really have the cash to spill out on big problems. But the handling and thrills of the VTR/VTS is really attractive. Meh :o

I agree with everything bar the reliability. If you pick up a low mileage example which has been well looked after, there's nothing to say it won't last as long as any other car :)
