I'm actually wanting my 360 to pack it in so I can trade it in for a new one! Hopefully in a month or two, when the revised models are doing the rounds, it'll meet an untimely death

Spoke too soon. It works for about a minute then freezes. Booting it back up and 3RLOD again

Phoned MS, got through without waiting, which I suppose isn't surprising considering the time of day. Went through the usual stuff about removing cables and HD, checking the colour of the PSU light and then she said to SEND IT BACK

Looks like they don't send you a box any more, you have to provide it yourself but I'll get a RMA label via email and then I can phone UPS to pick it up. They also quoted a maximum of twenty days to get it returned, which considering I'm on holiday for the next two weeks and will be without the Xbox regardless, doesn't sound so bad.

I just hope the return is in as good condition (bar the 3RLOD) as it is now, as I take care of all my electrics.

Isnt it the upper right quadrant that is not lit when its the 3RLOD.

My mate had that about 6 months ago (sam as yours, lower right) and it only happened once and was fine, we think it just overheated.

Maybe the pic is the wrong way up?

i.e. his 360 could be laying flat?

Well the quadrants adjust to the position its in, plus the power symbol is the right way up so looks vertical to me

The console is laying flat but I took it with my camera phone on its side, thus when I pulled it off the phone it was 'portrait' again.
