Weekend Football *SPOILERS* 6/7 October

ok it's wigan so not to get too excited but in the second half a lot of things worked for us. Pique looked good all game, Anderson fitted in very nicely with Scholes, Tevez looked class, Rooney managed to get back on the goal trail, Danny Simpson provided some good quality down the flanks as well.

Great second half from Utd, back on top of the league. :D I thought Tevez's goal was outstanding, and the crosses for the 3rd and 4th were spot on, especially good to see Simpson bombing down the wing to get the ball in for Rooney.

Basically agree with everything there.

Wigan were shocking though, you play the champions away from home, nothing to lose, they lose half their backline in the first 25 minutes and you still dont have a go at them.

Much appreciated though, meant Simpson and Pique had nice introductions to the team, and Anderson was brilliant. Everything he did had Scholes written all over it, he's going to be an important player for us in the future.

Oh yeh, unlucky cheets. Top of the league :)

I thought we did well. They punished us through Evra in the first half as it's obvious teams will start attacking aerially against him without Vidic to pull him out the ****.
Ferdinand was masterful again, breaking his all time record to deliver 3 world class performances in a row.
Pique looked very assured, a million miles away from the player I saw against Coventry last week.
Simpson looked very confident at RB, again, totally different from Coventry (though he was LB against Coventry wasn't he?), I think the new contract has really given himself confidence.

Anderson was brilliant, especially considering he's a forwards player who was winning tackle after tackle. Loads of heart and a hell of a pass on him.
Scholes was back to playing well which was a nice change, orchestrating the middle.
Giggs needs to be off corners, but did a lot better than normal. He's definitely of use on the wings (which I always said) but he'll never make a forward.
Ronaldo was everywhere, terrorising Wigan. Two goals and a stonewall penalty not given.

Tevez was unbelievably good again and picked up his 3rd MOTM EPL performance in a row. Very hard working.
Rooney was off the pace for a lot of the game, great cross for Ronaldo and a good header too. Nice to see him get 2 in 2.

Overall I think we played very well once we'd sped it up, Scholes and Anderson worked superbly, the wings were measured and available and the forwards (second half) were generally central. The first half was worrying with Rooney on the left and Tevez on the right and no one in the middle though.

I thought 2 of the 3 subs did outstandingly well, which makes a nice change. Nani looked awful, but in fairness he only had 10 minutes.

Nice to see us score as we've always made the chances.

Like I said when all the nay-sayers came out the woodwork, 'Arsenal lost before going 49 unbeaten. It's not the end of the world'.

Good result for us. Pleased that we scored more than 1 goal. Was getting stick off the supervisor at work for apparently playing 'boring' football this season and only scoring 1 a game. Typical City fan for you ;)

Ronaldo back on the score sheet is great to see, no bad for my fantasy football team either :p

Arsenal were my pick for the title before the season started in a lot of places.

All I meant was, win both your games, you're still 5 points in the lead.

Ah gotcha, read it the wrong way round. With Sunderland and Bolton as our next 2 i think we should be able to :). Liverpool then Man U after that though, results in those 2 will certainly make me feel we have a chance.

Leeds with another win, 6 off the top now. :D
15 points who gives a **** we're super Leeds and we're going up!!!

Another good win for you, a few mates at work are big Leeds fans. Ive just watched us get beeten by Tranmere Rovers but to be honest we were the better team, TR never looked like scoring from open play (well apart from the clearence off the line) but both their goals were well taken from very good place kicks.
Strangely the game was at its best when the scores were level at 0-0 and 1-1.

Kirkland always has been, I think it's because of his growth problems which were behind many of his injuries.

The only injury he's had that because of his growth was his back injury. He's possibly the unluckiest guy in football, every time he got his chance with us he picked up an injury and not one persistent injury but one-offs (broken fingers, wrists etc).
Erm, doesn't Man Utd on Sky now count then?
Sorry i was talking about Sunday.
