Serious lack of engine power (V6 Alfa)

When I attempt to move anywhere the car is very sluggish and I get little to no acceleration, almost like there is no engine at all (although it will go backwards very swiftly). We have spent 2 days trying to figure it out but are none the wiser, what could be wrong?

Engine could be in "limp home mode", lots of possible causes, get it on an examiner and make sure all sensors are talking.

I've seen bas fuel killing injectors cause seriously diminished performance, and a broken cable from the air temperature sensor do it too.

Its definitely the way of pushing you into a huge sarchasm and then continuously beating you with your own hands while shouting "Stop hitting yourself!".
 
Thought that was in a car park of some sort at first :D then realised it’s a garden :p looks big! & are all the cars yours?

Not my house :(

It's my cousins and all the cars belong to their family apart from my alfa.
 
So what's the engine coming out for?

It it going somewhere else? Is something else going in? Is it getting some new bits? Autodelta?

Its driven every day, its only been abandoned there because of the Alfa taking up most of the manouvering space.

Engine is being swapped because the big end bearings failed and the crank needs regrinding. The cost of doing all that works out as more than getting a warrantied engine from a breaker with all the belts changed and required the engine out anyway.
