thought i would post a update as i am now level 20, been going to battleground and its amazin how good it is adrenaline rush when taking the keep. glad i started this game

Nothing comes close to rvr on daoc for me

DAoC was an excellant game with the best PvP (RvR) of any MMORPG that I have played.

As already stated, there probably wont be enough people playing anyone to make it as good as it used to be and it will also be hard to get levelled for PvP as soloing is very difficult.

If he is on the US classic cluster its packed all the time.

was one of the best games i ever played, when battlegrounds first came out the level 20-24 one was brilliant. Ended up just remaking characters to play the 20-24 battlegrounds.

Used to play on europe ,excaliber, as albion. Sirthflama the thurgist. If i remeber the name right, i was in Guardians of Power. Or was it guardians of light ? lol

BG's are pretty good, even the lower level ones have people running about... and the L1 to 4 rvr dungeon is a scream...

Bgs on the classic well on mid i am seeing over 30 people+ before the US hits prime time, havnt used any seige weapons yet ill get around to that soon enough i am level 24 now and dont wanna leave so i used /xpoff for a while will go back to level when my time is done defending Ck!

The 20-24 and the 35-39 bg's seem to be the most populated on classic at the moment but all of the bg's seem to see action even the ones like wilton and breamar which where all ways ghost towns see action in them.

US classic is now the only place worth playing, EU is dead.

You can level quite quickly there, I got a hunter from level 1 to 40 in about 16 hours solo, Mythic have made the game far easier to play, much easier to level and of course you can do 90% of the leveling in the battlegrounds (PVP).

It's still a good game, but lacks players on any but the US classic cluster most days and of course if you do go non-classic you have the problem of everyone else running bot accounts.

Set up a 14 day trial and got myself a bgs shammy on the go (old habits etc). Am I right in saying that I can get the catacombs expansion free now?

I still play this game it's still decent after all this time. Play on the US servers they are a lot more populated and they are ahead of the European servers patch wise. If you haven't played DAOC in a couple of years you will find it's been made a lot more accessible, horses that are basically taxi's from one point to another are now free and you get free armour at level 3-5 from doing a simple quest to get you going. You also get a free weapon of your choice from your trainer at levels 5-25 (might be 30 can't remember) and a breastplate. There are also channelers (people that port you places) all around the world that can send you to the major places meaning it's now very easy to instantly enter pvp with no waiting around.

I agree with the posters, it's the best MMO out there for PvP (RvR), but it is getting on a little bit and I think it's ship has now sailed.

It will be interesting to see what the PvP (RvR) will be like in Warhammer Online.

Well 11 days into my trial and I've got a 36 BD and a 37 Hunter parked in Molvik and a 24 Shaman and 23 Healer parked in Thidranki. Think I'll sub up for another month as I'm enjoying it again so far.

You gained 120 levels in just 11 days ... how many hours a day do you play?

Not that much - I mostly PvPed my way through so the XP was pretty insane. Say I averaged about 4 to 5 hours per day (had a week off work). Hunter is RR2 at the mo, not sure if I'll level him past Molvik.

Me too, fantastic game. Died a little inside when TOA came out and butchered it into a camp for artifact grind Havnt played since.

I used to play this a lot, had a level 50 Arms, Inf, Cabby,Cleric and Druid all on Excal Alb/Hib. Quit pretty much just before ToA came out, then got it and played for a while but hated all the additional grind.

Possibly interested in playing again on the US classic server, how do i go about getting the US servers to show on a UK copy of the game, plus what patch do these run?
