Streaming mp3's to my hi-fi

Hi,

In one room I have a pc with all my music on. In my living room I have a hi-fi system. I'd like to be able to click on mp3's in media player on my PC and wirelessly stream the sound to my hi-fi.

Most devices want to pull the music off the pc with a front end of their own. I want to use the pc's front end (as windows is a pretty fast way of finding what I want to play) and push the sound to the receiver. I basically want the receiver to be a piece of dumb technology that just decodes and plays what it receives.

Does a device like this exist?

Slingbox is the product you want, I think.

just get a long cable with headphone jack on 1 end and left right audio red/white on other end and do it like that £5 max.

I can't run a cable Hank the distance is about 30 meters.

I haven't looked at the airport gumbald, I'll check that out too.

That's what I meant. Slingbox is for video, I think.
