Thermaltake DuOrb for 8800series!

judging by the huge amount of copper fins it looks like it could be a good cooler, however im abit apprehensive, theres so few heatpipes, anyone tried one of these?

just read a review on this cooler, and it performed better than the zalman VF900 if anyones interested

Dont really see the point of aftermarket cooling on a 8800 its pretty pointless unless your moving to water.
temps are pretty low even with high oc's the stock cooler is pretty quiet at stock speeds and i dont think i ever heard mine go any higher on its own.
for once the stock solution was plenty good enough

with some after market cooler people have reported 20 to 30 degrees drop in temps and enabling them to get an extra 50 out of the core so they are getting temps similar to water without the cost especially if you have no watercooling at all in your system(.

stock is good but my card gets to 80 degrees overclocked. I like the sound of 50 degrees and the abililty to perhaps get to 700 on the core and near GTX performance.

I would agree the stock fan is quiet though so you should only really consider if you want to increase chance of overclock.

might be worth a look though temps arnt a problem for me so what is stopping me i have my core at 650 proberbly get 660 without error any higher and its a no go but if im playing a gamne that is particularly stressfull i manually set the fan on 100% duty and the card never goes abovve 64 degreas and idles at 57 if tempe arnt stopping me is my core just not cut out for more or could a volt mod give me an extra umph im hitting 1650 on the dial and 1675 on the wreadout for the shader.

Good temps and in your case I doubt its temps stopping getting you higher. In my case I can set the card to 720 core but as soon as I stress it, it crashes and with my temps at 80 already I suspect the temp is holding me back tbh
