So, how did you go about taking the shot? Was it something you set out to capture or something that happened when you were out and about?

I wish I could say 'I planned the shot in my head beforehand' but the truth is, total fluke. Well, thats not strictly fair on my behalf to say as I did obviously try and get a shot of one of the lambs in mid-flight but didn;t think I'd succeed.

Basically there were 3 lambs running around in the field next to the farmhouse we were stauing in. We noticed them as we pulled up at the house after a day out exploring. Thought it was pretty funny so decided to try and get some shots of it. I put the D2x in high speed crop mode to get the frame rate up and just fired off loads of shots (probably 60 over the space of a couple of minutes) and this was the only shot that came out well! I don't usally go for machine gunning subjects butin this situation you had to as there was no way to predict what the lambs would do. Even at 8fps the shot either side of this one were no use!
 
Quick update on the nightmare that is ANOTHER OVER PRICED COMPETITOR...

Seems getting a price match out of ANOTHER OVER PRICED COMPETITOR wasn't as easy as I first thought...

I emailed them to explain the situation and was told they would price match, but I had to call the sales team to order over the phone. So I did, and when I asked how to go about collecting from store they said 'oh, your paying with vouchers...' even though I had explained in the emails to this guy I phoned!! So he went away to talk to his manager, came back and said they wont price match if I go in store so I need to do it over the phone still but I would have to post the vouchers to them first(!!!!!) to which I declined the kind offer...

So then he went away and came back again and said the best thing I could do is go in store and it would be at the store mangers discretion if they would price match. So I pointed out to this guy on the phone that they had cleared a price match so could he not just call my local store and let them know. 'sorry it doesn't work like that' he said...grrrrr getting annoyed now...

So, I then called my local branch, explained the situation to the assistant manager as the manager is on holiday. She said she would speak to the people at head office I sopke to, and if they ok'd it she would be happy to match the price...finally! Or so I thought...she then called back to say they can't price match as I was using an insurance voucher! 'Erm..whats an insurance voucher? I'm using a gift voucher...' I politely said...to which she apologises for getting mixed up and then goes back to call head office...!! Then she called back to say they COULD price match at my local store but only if warehouseexpress have the lens in stock...which they don't!! But, the lady was very helpful and said she was trying to contact her area manager to explain to him and if he agreed then she would price match even if WE didn't have stock. She said she'd call me back yesterday but never did...!! grrrr

What makes it even more annoying is my local branch actually has the bloody lens in stock as well!!!!

Stupid? you bloody betcha!!

However...

Spoke to ANOTHER OVER PRICED COMPETITOR again today, the assistant manager had spoken to the actual manager and he said they would only sell me the lens at their buy in price (£1,290 apparently...hmmmm yeah right). HOWEVER, she then said if I could find the voucher that was doing the rounds in the magazines at the moment they would price match using that...!

So, I just trundled over to Tesco and finally found the price match voucher, so they are reserving the lens for me to pick up tomorrow. Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiinally!!

Oh and the other good thing is the cheapest price I could find it elswhere in the magazine was £1,138, so even better :D

So finally getting the 70-200 VR tomorrow morning, it was a bit of a nightmare but at least its all sorted now!
 
Never used Digg before but going by some of the comments I think it may have been posted on there before at some point?!

Makes me laugh the people that think it's photoshopped. A couple of people even said they hate people that use photoshop to blur backgrounds in photo's as it always ruins them...then someone else pointed out it's actually depth of field...lmao.
