Dark Age of Camelot

All signed up, downloaded and patched, ran through the tutorial and am going to give it a proper go tomorrow. Have decided on a Friar (me) + Wizard (wife) combo just like we did many moons ago when we first started playing. The wife even got her original name but i had to butcher my old one a bit.

Nice, Friars are awsome from what I remember, if you havnt played one for a while you will be surprised how good they are now :)

m4cc45 you've obviously never played Ultima Online and it was out years before AC :)

Played that too mate. AC was (IMHO) more action based than UO - I remember chopping down trees and stuff in UO which was okay for a bit but then got boring. Just personal preference I guess.

Are the character builders on catacombs still up to date, i dont want to mess up my spec as if i remember rightly you need dragon drops or those items from a dungeon in the shrowded isles expansion. In fact got any links to any up to date info, all my old ones are out of date.

Someone mentioned that they were out of date and pointed to this -

From what I remeber you get a free single line respec at level 20 and 40 now.
When at those levels do /respec skill line at trainer.

Right I'm downloading the trial again. Can someone recommend a good solo class so I can lvl up quickly?

What realm are you going to pick, there are 3 to choose from.
Each realm has fast solo levelrs.

Albion -

Necromancers
Heretic

Midguard -

Bonedancer
Warlock

Hibernia -

Mana Enchanter
Vampire

I still think that AC ( Asherons Call ) was the best mmorpg that ive played. i started playing a few months after it came out, and played for about 3 years. not all in one long session... hehe :D

Could never get started on Dark Tide as I tried it to long after playing on Thistledown (originally) and then restarting on Leafcull.

I did do a bit of PvP on Leafcul and ended up with 40% vit most of the time!

Enjoyed it and thinking of heading back for a few months!

I now have a lvl 23 eldritch but I have some questions.

Where do I get good armour from? - I know you get an item every 5 levels but where can I buy stuff from, is it all player made or dropped from named mobs?

Where can I buy power potions from - player made or is there a market somewhere or something?

What is templating?

Armour - providing you have downloaded the Catacombs extension you can visit special instanced dungeons where mobs drop Aurulite. This can be traded at the Shar Labrynth for fairly decent armour and weapons.

There is a player market - click on one of the channelers in the main city, click housing then entrance. This will port you next to the Market Explorer NPCs where you can search for your goods. Prices can be high.

Templating is kitting out your toon to basically be as powerful as possible by capping various stats and skills.

I'm playing Hib at the moment as well - look me up on Archiedrew or Oggmonster if you need help with the above.

There are loads of maps on this site -

I think the aw instaned ones are what you want but I dont think it tells you how to get to them, if you ask around with a dungeon name someone should be able to point you in the right direction.

Is anyone playing on hib classic ? was thinking of signing up again.

I'm on hib classic - lvl 36 eldritch. Molvik last night was rocking, there where about 40 hibs facing off against 25ish albs and around 20-30 mids
