Hello all,

My Dad wants to take my brother down to the doctors and get a blood test done as he is suspect on him for doing drugs, brother is adament that he hasn't so Dad's challenged him to prove him wrong and has asked me to find out if blood tests to check for drugs can be done on demand?

Does anyone know?

I know for a fact he's been shoving all sorts of gear up his nose for a while now, so I'd love to see him get busted personally.

Cheers!

what a great brother you are...

What? I hate the chav.

His own fault for taking the drugs, getting arrested on multiple accounts due to them. I have no sympathy for him.

Now he's gotta pay the consequences of it.

I doubt they will do one on demand unless there is a medical reason, or a legal reason (police), at least at a general practice/hospital (with the possible exception of it being part of a professional medical or whatever).

Hmmm...

Ok, fair enough.

What other ways is there to prove he's taken drugs? other than beating it out of him :p or nuking him from orbit? or punching him in his ovaries :p or killing it with fire ;)

Your brother can get a blood test done privately but he will have to willingly present himself for it and it will have to be paid for. Your dad cannot make your brother go for a blood test against his will.

Tell him to have a word with his GP who should be able to make a referral or point you in the direction of someone who will perform the test privately.

Maybe try let him lead his own life and, eventually, learn by his own mistakes?

Don't shoot the messenger, this isn't SPAAAARTAAAR after all :p

I'm not trying to lead his life, Dad wants him to have a blood test done and asked me to find out if it was possible.

Cheers Scuzi :) Shall let Dad know :)

Whatever you do, don't be encouraged to get a home testing kit - those things are about as accurate as Jade Goody trying to guess the amount of people in India.

Wouldn't you want to know what your brother had been upto?

I'm on the other brothers side and have been beaten to the point of vomiting blood by my brother in his attempt to "beet it out of me" so no tbh. and the op's idea of beating it out of him disgusts me.

A hair test is one possible option, drugs stay in the hair for VERY long periods before they become undetectable. A hair test is quite expensive though, and im not sure what sort of consent would be required (like if you could just get a hair from his comb or something and take it to an analyst and say its your own or something).

Another option i could think of, but am unsure if it would be possible, is to go to a blood bank, as they screen all blood they recieve for chemicals or abnormalitys, but again, like any other blood test this would require your brothers consent, but on the up side, if he is clean then the blood bank gets a much needed pint of blood.

Also about putting stuff up your nose, just because hes doing it doesnt mean its an illegal drug, there are some legal drugs that can be snorted (and im not talking about grinding up pills to snort, im talking about proper drugs, most of which are herbal, that can be snorted as the main course of administering it). I dont presume to know your brother at all, but im just pointing out that just because they are doing it, doesnt mean its illegal, as there are legal drugs that can be taken that way.

You can get them done over the internet for about £100, can't remember who with. They'll send you a jar, **** in it and send it back.

Hmm i missed this post

But no i'm sorry but even how my brother treated me I'd still be willing to make sure he didn't get in trouble, with parents or other wise, I feel truly sorry for your brother that you feel this way. and like mine are unwilling to try and talk about it but go to action instead, this willl only cause your brother to feel separate from your family(or at least in my experience it did) and he will not change because of it but will feel he is alone and no longer has anywhere to go, when he needs it, this at least how i feel, and as ashamed as i feel writing this i honestly am crying as i do.

Yep, not going to happen I'm afraid, neither is the 'hair test'! Too many people watch CSI here me thinks! Ok, it will show drug use, but hell if your Brother couldn't sue you into the ground if you tried to use the results for anything!

My advice, if it's worth anything is, stick to the damn fine looking cars, ignore this Brother and bring that Cougar around here for me to 'look after' whilst you sort this out! :D
