i have 20 days left to activate vista. i want a new board first before i activate. i wont have a new board within 20 days.

can i remove vista and go back to xp for a while then when i get a new board i can re install vista and continue my grace period or will i have to activate there and then as its been longer than 20 days even though vista hasnt been installed?

Hey hardc0re_tid, you can go back to Windows XP and remove Windows Vista and then when it comes to installing Vista again when you have your new board, you can either enter the product key during the installation process. If you do that, it will automactically activate your version of Vista after 3 days i think it is.

You can either do the above or leave the box blank where you type your CD key in at the installation process and then you will have 30 days from that day till you have to activate your copy of Vista. You can always extend the free trial period from 30 days to 120 days. :)
