Spec me a good SP game (360)

I'm going under the knife later this month and will have a couple of weeks in bed to recover. I'm staying at the in-law's where I won't have internet access so I'm looking for a couple of good single player games on the 360.

I prefer shooters and enjoyed playing through Halo 3 and R6 Vegas. I'm interested in GRAW2 (PC version was a snorefest). I thought Far Cry was dull and Obvlivion was a bit long winded. I've already got Bioshock and Stranglehold on the PC so they're out too...

If you've got any recommendations then I'd love to hear.

The best SP game I've played for a long time was Just Cause. Had just the right amount of challenges to be more interesting than Far Cry and just the right length to be as not long winded as Oblivion.

Graphics perhaps weren't the best I've seen, but was certainly addicted to it a good few weeks.

did you like bioshock? if so i recommend darkness and/or condemned

condemned can be had cheap nowadays so theres no excuse not to have played it

oh and i almost forgot: crackdown. this is one of my favourite games. like an arcadey grand theft auto (e.g. no "faffing about" missions, just get stuck in guns blazing)

I did like the Darkness demo... but I'm a scaredy cat so I might avoid Condemned

I think you'd like GRAW2 if you enjoyed Vegas. Theres also Gears of War.

condemned is a class game.
darkness is good also.

another great game is Tiger Woods 08 but i dont know if you are a fan of sports games.

Agreed. Short enough you can finish it in a day, but with enough achievements to keep you going for quite some time if you want to get them all. I'm still 4 short of getting all 50.

I thought GoW was a bit meh (although it was the sole reason I got a 360 12 months ago). Dead Rising was class - but hard as hell!

Oblivion is only as long as you want it to be. I'm about 30 odd hours into my 3rd playing (2nd time round the save corrupted) and I haven't touched the main story at all.

I'd recommend The Orange Box, lots of fun to be had there. Half Life 2, Ep1 and Ep2 plus Portals and TF2 for online.

Of course is you've played HL2 and Ep1 on the PC which I'll assume you have that's probably not such a good option so I'll just shut up now

Not entirely true - I have ordered The Darkness and am looking for a cheap copy of GRAW2. I would grab the Orange box too but no internet access leaves me with only Ep2 to play

I know, was just a bit of a trend I'd noticed with these type of threads.

You can't really go wrong with The Darkness and GRAW 2, although I'm no too sure what the differences are between the 360 and PC versions of GRAW 2 tbh.

SP shooter? Darkness, Prey, COD2, COD3
Other SP: Dead Rising (is the best game on the platform (imo) ~ and I'm only 3 achievements short of all 50 DP

), Kameo, Splinter Cell: DA, Hitman: Bloodmoney

I liked Blue Dragon (a lot) and Enchanted Arms though you might not if you're not really a rpg person.

GRAW 2 is very good but very short (5/6 hours SP).

In summary, for a shooter get the darkness else get dead rising.

Those last two are insane (though as someone who did kill 53,594 zombies in one sitting I'm the last person to raise the point tbh). Just seen you've not got Saint... tut tut, leaving people to die!
