New Radiohead album

On my second listen now, it's stunning. I love 'Jigsaw Falling into Place'.

It really is. I can't believe how atmospheric this album is. At the moment, Arpeggi is just blowing me away. The atmospheric strings and synth pads - just something special.

Just got to videotape. Until now my favorite version was the one off some tv show, it was just thom and a mic. Anyway, now I have a new favorite version :).

Just finished listening to this, I'm not the biggest Radiohead fan, although I do like them,

Anyway, very good album, made even better by the simple download/paying system they've used, I paid a fiver which I think is reasonably really,

Was a bit concerned about the quality at only 160kbps, but can't say i've heard any kind of distortion or anything like that, but then I'm not an audiophile :p

/me listens to it again :)

What the hell is going on here? Why has no one jumped in and posted this album sucks, Radiohead suck?

Is it really that good? :)

With this album, it's quite hard for people to accuse it of being "pretentious", "whiney" or "depressing". It's just straight up lovely.

No waay, Videotape was the letdown of the album for me - live it was incredible, a real epic, this version is just somehow lacking. Yes its a lot closer to the in the basement original, however for the potential that song has, its a disappointment I am afraid.

edit I guess we can put it down to different tastes benneh - House of Cards and Videotape are the songs I like least on the album!

Lovely album. Listened to it properly twice now, I think it's going to keep growing and growing on me like the new QOTSA did, until I'm absolutely in love with it. Soooo nice for it not to be a typical disappointment as is so often the case when a band like Radiohead release a new album. It's much better than Hail to the Thief.

I would also like to add that this album has some of the best bass, ever.

Yeah! I was listening to it again in the car on the way up to see the GF tonight, and had it up nice and loud - it was giving my sub a good workout!!!

Not quite as much as Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors - that's just got some insane bass! Easily the bassiest track I have!

The bass in bodysnatchers is amazing, I can't work out what they've done with it but it sounds stunning. I also think that its the best track on the album, the first four songs are absolute corkers, then it kinda slows down in the second half of the album. Definitely prefer the first half, but still, its an amazing album and it grows on me ever time I listen to it!

I wish I hadn't posted that now:o

I'm finding it pretty dull for the most part, It has some nice ideas in there but doesn't seem to really go anywhere.

Still a damn good move by the band though, hopefully many others will follow:)

Think it's very very good tbh. Not a big radiohead fan before now but it's drawing me in, I think.
