Couldn't find one of these and would like to see what everyone else has.

Mine's fairly basic setup at the moment but here she is, Tama Superstar Custom -

I don't have any pictures on this computer and my kit is 325 miles away. :(

Good idea on the thread though. There's not enough drum lovers in this forum.

Nice Tama by the way, looks like you have kept it in good nic. I have been wanting to fetch myself a StarClassic for years now, but just can't afford it. One day, it will be mine...

Here's mine:

Kit is a Gretsch Catalina Birch, snare is a Pearl Masters MMX Custom, hardware is mainly Pearl but with a Tama Iron Cobra double pedal & hi hat stand. Cymbals are all Paiste - all Paiste 2oo2 except for the ride cymbal which is a Signature, and my crash/ride which is a Giant Beat.

The pics are a bit old, since then I've added a 11" 2oo2 splash and a 8" 2oo2 bell cymbal. (took ages to come through as they discontinued it so I custom ordered one!) I've love to get a second snare drum next, and also when I go to Turkey over the Christmas holidays I'd love to get a Bosphorus/Istanbul crash to add as a fourth crash. :)

Haha so have I! But then again I'd love a full MMX / Mapex Orion / Gretsch USA Custom . . . the list goes on. I settled on mine in the end as it was relatively cheap and the shells were 1) full birch and 2) sounded great.

I really fancy a Pearl Reference kit. I can dream.
I'll just stick new heads on my MMX and pretend.

The MMX's are awesome though so it's good enough! I absolutely adore my MMX snare, it's sensitive but beefy if needs be. :)

Do you have any recordings of it? I have a mapex black panther steel jobbie, and a 3.5" (or is it just 3") deep pearl free-floating piccolo maple thing, in cat sick orange...

I always fancied a dennis chambers type thing, but the last wood snare I had sounded arse, but I'm sure I want something nice and woody again now.

Nope, I don't have any sorry! It's a fantastic wooden snare, mine is the 14"x6.5" size. It's very sensitive so ghost notes are easy to play, but if it needs an accent or a louder passage it copes with harder hitting brilliantly. The tone is warm and full. Isn't the DC signature snare the same shell as the MMX one anyway?

Looks like you've kept it really well Dave :)

How much did it all set you back?

I could only dream of that many cymbals!

Too much to think about! It's been put together over a few years so it's all been spread out. I originally wanted to model it on Mike Portnoy's drum kit that he uses in the band Transatlantic but it's gradually changed as I've grown as a drummer. As a rough estimate:

Gretsch Catalina Shells - £600 for the lot
Pearl MMX Snare - £320
Rack: about £350 including extra clamps
Cymbal stands: about £30 each, so about £300 ish
Tama IC Stuff: £230 for pedal, £100 for hi hat stand
Cymbals: ranging from £70 (splash cymbals) up to about £170 (ride cymbal)

Since those photos I've also got a 11" 2oo2 Splash, 8" 2oo2 Bell and a little percussion mount with a tambourine, cowbell and 2x jam blocks on :D

Like I said, I'd love to get a second snare and another crash cymbal, but I'd also like to update the shells maybe. I dunno, I'm happy with the Catalina's Birch shells, and I don't do any "professional" stuff so meh :)

Dave, I'm jealous of the kit but even more jealous if that's your garden!

Well it's not mine, it's my parents house! It's the bit I refer to as the "collection of trees" as it's not quite a full blown forest. But living in the middle of nowhere is very conductive to playing drums! :)

It's fairly apt! The "forest" expands out from it but this little bit is where we sit around for chilling out, got a little chimnier down there. Great for BBQs/beers etc. Here's a better pic of it, just without the drums:
