Some kids from a college in Sussex got owned by their college after a video from a class was found on youtube.

The students shouldnt be there, either if they started it or joined in, they are all responsible for their own actions... why are they their if they just wanted to pratt around, i know i wernt inocent at school, probably no where near, but i knew when to calm myself, i knew when to stop and i knew how far to go... these idiots want kicking out to be honest...

I was a lil **** at school, but college is different, you want to be there to gain skills for life, you dont wana be at school but you dont have a choice... now the college have the choice weather to kick these lads out, unlucky i say... thatll teach them...

Not just that, the whole class is suspended, so even people who behaved (if any) now have to miss out.

Owned!

Not even college will ever be a mature learning environment. For that, you would have to wait for University.

I blame the government's mis-guided campaign to get young people into further education. There are people there who clearly couldn't give a rat's ass as to what leisure & tourism BTEC they achieve, no doubt EMA is a primary reason for wanting to attend in the first place.

Let those who actually want to be there and learn, be there. And those who don't, encourage them to better their lives elsewhere.

It wasn't one of those courses that the government likes to send chavs on when they first sign on the dole was it?

It never ceases to amaze me how stupid some people can be when it comes to posting clips of themselves up to no good on the internet. A guy got fired from my workplace for posting a video of himself on Myspace chairsurfing and scrapping with a couple of lads whilst working out of hours. The daft sod didn't stop to think that a manager was in his friends list...

hmm i have to say maybe if they removed the funding you'd have less idiots on the courses, as like you said a lot of them are doing it for the £££ with basically no real work involved.
would i be right in saying in england atleast you have to pay for a course? like NC/HNC Computing? in which case i suppose the EMA would pay for that upfront, in which case its not really possible to just remove the funding :o

EMA is a big facter in a lot of these going to College, its to get them into practice for signing on properly. However at the College I work at we have taken in a huge volume of 14-16 year olds, mainly those that the local schools couldn't handle and wanted shipped out, the place has nose dived considerably in the recent years as the place is crawling with gangs of 14 year old chavs...

I have a GNVQ in that. :(

Only did it because it was basically the only way to do Media studies without having to do History, Geography and French for 2 years.

Oh, and the no homework part and minimal tests was rather appealing too. ;)

Anyway, I've noticed, and was actually quite surprised that most people I've seen at college seem to be mature, but then I heard a "fatty" from one of the HND students as someone went by him.... :o

Students should be awarded EMA upon recipt of good behavior from the teacher, and the teachers shouldnt be so soft and give in like ive seen when i was in school.

Or maybe students doing Alevels and BTEC's courses which are lvl 3 upwards who are smart enough to be there should be given this kind of funding.

Something does need to be done, and i am in favour of the governments plan to bring the leaving age to 18, i dont think people are mature enough to leave at 16, not at all, when i left, itw as hard to find work, it took a lot of will power, a lot of work, a lot of getting my face into the streets and asking around, kids these days cant be bothered with that, and with the dole looking ever so healthy for kids... whos parents push them into getting... surely its worth boosting the age.

Its getting worse, the chavs, the immaturity, the annoycance of kids nowadays is just crazy, my last job, we had a few girls under 17 working there, still in school or just leaving, some younger, and i couldnt bare working with them, they just cant be told/taught, they just dont listen, they listen if they choose too... i just think something needs to be done fast.

My sister is 14 at the moment, and i get annoyed so much with her, i kicked off yesterday, she walked in, light was on her, she demanded what she wants, and my mum had got in minuted before, my sister dumped her blazer, her bag, her shoes, when she has been told i dont know how many times what to do with them, when i try tell her she just shouts, last night she changed my bebo skin to pink n found it hilarious, she dosnt think of consiquences, so i changed my laptop password "james whats your password" so i got my phone out and reeled off a 12 nuimber password, at which point she started swearing at me n walked out...

My mum then turned round n said "she cant always get her own way, she can give it but she cant take it, shell learn sooner or later". Kids just want what they want and when they dont get it, they flip...

Dont get me wrong my sister is a brilliant kid, shes good in school, shes doing part time at college which shes enjoying she wants to get in on the activities and when away from home she is brilliant... just when she dosnt get her own way she tends to throw a paddy... dosnt happen often, just enough to be annoying..

I have just watched the jeremy kyle show, that girl at 14 years old was the rudest person i have ever encountered, and ive met some very very rude people... i feel sorry for her parent. Try find it on youtube or on the website, youll then see what i mean.

Something needs to be done to stop this behaviour.

As I understand it, you get 'bonuses' for that sort of thing.

Another thing that shocked me about the EMA system when chatting to the woman at college, asking about backpay for 3 weeks and if I should fill out 3 attendance forms..

"No, we'll just assume you were in college"

You get a lot of that, my mate went on hol with me a few weeks back, he got paid for that week, i must admit he is lucky like that, he was lucky when he got it in school.

But none the less that needs to be stopped... it just shows a colleges attitude towards better life and better education... i would like to see the attitude of a headmaster when asked that randomly without any lead ups...

And you do get bonusses, i think its when you have attended a whole term i.e sep to xmas and from xmas to end of the year..

I bet all those kids were in attendence purely to claim their weekly EMA thingy... A travesty.

I honestly have no idea why we waste so much tax revenue on people who patently don't want to learn. I despair.

Out of interest, who qualifies for the EMA thingy? I bet wouldn't have.
