Just wanted to know if anyone has switched their MX records for their hosted domain to Google so Google manages their email? I have a GMail account with 2.9GB of space and the only downside I can see by switching MX over to the hosted service is that it's set to 2GB space only - not really an issue though :p

As the service is provided from the US does anyone reckon it could have some minor delays from time to time or be the usual Google speedy-speed ?

If anyone has this set up with their domain how do you find it? how easy is it to set up email aliases? I have 2 email forwarders on my current domain forwarding to my GMail account so would like those as aliases set up with immediate effect as they get mails inbound all the time :)

Look forward to any feedback on this!

Jason (@) jtgfx (.) com is handled by Google now.

I find it handy as I can get to it quicker than going via my hosts site.

Swapping the MX records were actually quite easy, and Google had detailed instructions specifically for my host too.

I'm with TSOHost so MX changes are easy as pie - just wanted to find out how stable people found the gmail hosting for email that is all really :p

It would be nice to have the "sent by gmail" in the from header when sending email even though I've added my "account" in gmail so it sends as my domain name ;)

I did it a while ago not been overly impressed with it. For some reason it won't let me use the gmail phone app with it, which is a major downside for me.

Setting it all up is dead easy, just lots of MX entries to add :)

Aha! :p

As stable as aformentioned pie then. :)

And of course you get a nice, easy to navigate way to look at your mail.

Edit: I should maybe ask them to sponsor me... I sound like a bloody walking ad atm. :(

Hmm all sounds good!

Do you have a screenshot of the alias screen, I'd like to see how it looks! I assume it all activates on to your existing gmail account as I have a fair number of labels etc set up.

is your not impressed-ness due to the gmail phone app not working? is the rest of it ok? !!

Not sure if it activates on your current Gmail account, I'm swaying towards thinking it doesn't.

The rest is ok, the adverts annoy me rather a lot though.
