Hey, went down to the local Pets at Home today to get some stuff for the new kitten, and as I got back into my car I saw this old bloke opposite me(about 70/80ish) drop off his wife then started to reverse out of the space and drive off, only he didnt turn enough and drove straight into the side of a brand new 57 plate Corsa Vxr and then drove off!...I waited for about 40 minutes, being the kind person I am, to see if anyone came out but they didn't, so I left!...now I know it's a long shot but was just wondering if everyone can post this on different sites cos if that was my car, even though it's a corsa i'd be devestated!

I got the offending guys number plate too! it was an older Ford Fiesta (either like this or this in that blue/purple-ish colour...V**9 NJK

I got a pic of the Vxr aswell...

Now you can't tell from the pic, but the bumper was all scratched, the alloys where completely *****, scratched to hell! and the front of the passenger door was all dented and scratched!

Glad to see some passers by not just watching then going on their merry way, he said he later reported it to the police too.

Good good. I'd like to think anyone would do the same though... I certainly would.

Why didn't he leave a note on the windscreen or something though?

what I don't understand, is why didn't he just leave a note on the windscreen, rather than trying to find him over the internet which has got a very good chance of success. Good on him for reporting it to the police though.

Indeed, someone go and point out the stupidity of not just leaving his mobile number on the windscreen :/

He's in a bloody shopping centre though, there must have been somewhere that sells pen/paper or even somewhere that would let him borrow one.

there's a lot of shops there, ask at a desk or a guard.

I can't say i care to be honest, he reported it to the police which is what i would have done having been sat waiting for the owner for 40 minutes and them not appear :)

What if he went into a shop and when he came back the owner was gone? Would have had to contact the Police then anyway so nothing gained or lost by getting paper is there ;)

I've done this twice now, once I saw a courier van knock down somebody's front wall and the other time I saw somebody reverse straight in to a park car and drive off. Both times I left my details and got calls from the owner asking me to be a witness. I would want somebody to do it if it was my car.

yeh but he waited 40mins . Good deed, just lacks some common sense.

Yeah, going to the police is a plus also.

I'm going to start reporting things more now. Annoying illegally parked cars, dangerous taxis, vauxhalls...

Hope he tracks the owner down, that'd be crippling to get back to your brand new motor and find some bar steward has hit it and driven off.

I saw some old bloke in a big old Volvo estate clonk someone's car and smash the light cluster in Tesco the other day. I stood and waited ready incase the bloke just did a runner, and was ready with my phone to take pics/reg numbers. but he parked back up and stayed put. After all, I'd be SERIOUSLY annoyed if it happened to me.
