So who's reduced their carbon footprint?

Not me. I just swapped my 2.0 car for a 3.5v6. I want to go where and when I want in comfort, warmth & relative safety.

I'm considering getting some tree stickers with X's on for the side of my car for every fill up - red baron style :D

I try to be economical but I will not say I contribute to help reduction as it is a big scam designed to make you believe it and in the future pay some sort of tax for it.

Of course not. Because I don't believe man-made CO2 is the cause global warming, and even if it was, the total C02 produced by our tiny little island pales in comparision to the big polluters.

Agreed.

I won't use the car for stupidly short trips like the 2 minute walk to the shop/post office and as of recent months, haven't had to use the car to commute so I suppose I'm doing my bit without even realising it ;)

i dont think its actualy possible for my micra to harm the planet:)

We in the UK make no diff at all when americans are using 5-8litre v8s etc
As for china, wel they will reduce emmisions but not at any cost to their economy (so basically they wont reduce anything at all).

Reducing emissions is a good attitude to take, but unless the world as a whole takes it seriously, theres only so much our efforts can do.

I re-organised my computers last year, now have a Compaq Evo ultra slim PC as my 'always on one'. Generally play a lot less games, so the big one stays of, therefor so does the rackmount UPS. I use my laptop rather than the main pc now, and mostly walk to work.

I tend to try and avoid buying veg that's in excess packaging too :)

I get the bus to uni instead of driving, not because i want to reduce my carbon footprint but to save myself about £21 a week in parking costs. To park near my uni is £1.60 an hour and you can old park for a max of 4 hours before having to move the car.

Nope - I still go for a blast when/if I can. If my bike was on the road I'd also be taking that for needless spins. I tend to use my car more than public transport because in general I prefer it! (And let's face it a damn site more reliable!)

Good on those of you who are making the effort though :)

Oh, and I just remembered something from an old Top Gear... I drive a Saab, so apparently the air coming out is cleaner than the air going in! Woohoo :D:p

since advancing my ignition and running super 98ron i have cleaned up my emissions over the last year.

i have therefore reduced my carbon footprint on my daily sojourn to work?

To be honest, I will only reduce it where it can save money, like lightbulbs.

I will not however buy a cheap to run car to reduce my "carbon footprint", I like my fast car. :)

At the end of the day, all the "carbon footprint" is, is a Tax ploy, nothing else.

Couldn't give a crap really to be honest. Its just a government buzz word to get more money out of use really.

Still wouldn't make any difference as Mans total CO2 emissions are less than 0.5% of all the CO2 created in the world, halving it is like taking a glass of water from a bath and saying it is less full than before
