Mine that I bought locally was also flying around inside the case. It's slightly scuffed/scratched but no where near as bad as some I've seen. Dont think I'll have any problems with it running wise.

My game disc was also scuffed with a few small scratches but plays ok. Think I'll play through it and when I get Mass Effect send it off and get it replaced for free. No way I'm waiting two weeks.
 
Is this really a problem caused by Microsoft/Bungie or our illustrious postal system?

I am swayed to the postal system.
 
Depends how it's rattling around.

I haven't got the box edition, just basic so I dunno.

If there isn't a "clip on" part like normal dvd cases then it's MS & Bungie's fault, our postal system doesn't help the matter though.

I assume it was packaged seperate to the actual game? As in not actually in the case with the discs etc?

Must be something special your retailer done because I got no such goodies with mine :(
 
Yeh got mine yesterday and the bonus disc is scratched up. Got the Legendary Edition today and I assumed it came with the LE version but it does not.

So now I have 2 halo games. One in a nice tin. One not.

Guess I will sell the the normal one.
 
Yeah, if you didn't know.. nearly ALL the collector editions are scratched in some way.

They used some pretty poor spindles inside so expect misery if you got a CE.
 
Yep mine was loose and the game disc is scratched quite a bit. But playing ok so far, if i get any problems the i'll get a replacement.
 
Can I just check has anyone actually received anything back from Microsoft yet as regards this?

I sent my game disk back on the 27/9/07 as it was very badly scratched and have had nothing back yet. I appreciate its been difficult with the postal strikes but am growing concerned at nothing arriving yet :(

Just wondered if anyone else had heard anything?
