Good to see scum going to jail

Yes, let's spend hundreds of thousands looking after them for years instead of a few thousand on a couple of good doctors and a lethal injection. Makes sense.

I provisionally aggree on the death penalty in extreme cases but I think your sarcastic tone might offend teaboy5 unduely. Probably unintended I am sure.

BBC News / Mr Justice McClaughlin said:
These two will rue the day they took a knife in to the city centre and attacked Marc Keller the way they did, he said.

Then do the right thing and life them off with a minimum tariff of fifteen years. What an absolutely appalling attack. I despise such cowardice.

You're right, but clearly teaboy will understand I hold him in no way responsible for the shortcomings of the legal system and thus will take no offence from my post. What grinds my gears even more is that these animals will still be able to reproduce. At the very least, a murder or attempted murder conviction should automatically include at least chemical castration.

That and other measures would certainly send a very clear message out to would be criminals that these extremely violent, depraved behaviours are not acceptable. I think its time for a speakers corner discussion on this, if there hasnt been one recently already. I haven't looked in there for months.

Not sure if you're being serious or not, but I think it was AcidHell that posted a link recently that demonstrated that it's usally more expensive to kill someone on death row than it is to lock 'em up for the rest of their lives.

"They will be in prison for very very many years"

The sad part about that is they'll be out in 10years max.

Death is the easy way out, as well as being expensive and barbaric. a life behind bars is the answer.

before the attack, Stewart and Smyth had consumed drink and drugs "as if they were Smarties and lemonade".

so they like drugs eh? fine commit em to a hospital where scientists can experiment on them. Use their bodies to help find treatments for cancer, aids etc

If theyre dead you cant learn as much from em :)

Actually the industry in which I work, (given the correct changes in law) would love a ready supply of cadavers to work on.
I work in the crash test industry and at the start of research in America in the 50's human cadavers were often used untill laws did not permit it anymore.
There is only so much you can learn from crash test dummies, it would be great to learn from actual human bodies.

How come Prisons arn't used for Cheap Manufacturing? Plenty supply of workers , Pay them around £1 / hour to buy stuff for there cell from the prison shop. Export products ... They pay for there self in prison instead of the tax man and also make money for economy while learning skills all in one.

Doesn't have to be though. One bullet doesn't cost much. It's just because of all the paperwork.

Well if the law can be changed to reintroduce the death penalty, which I heartly agree with, then it can also be used to make it very cheap to kill someone. Ie your worthless scum - instant lethal injection - body incinerated. Over in minutes after sentencing with minimum expenditure.

Quality control issues I suspect.
