I see a lot of people walking about wearing these types of long feet length leather jackets.

Below is an example.

Does anyone here wear one of these things, and

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.... WHY??

Looks stupid.

I think it takes a certain kind of person to pull one off really. I haven't seen one person outside of Hollywood that does it.

Well, for one thing you've been blinded by a film on something that's been around for, most likely longer than you have lived and second, it's clothing.

However, the only use I see for it is a long rain-coat type of thing.

I can understand, if it was pouring down.

It just looks like something like those posh italian priests wear. They do look a bit of a knob though.

A certain kind of person? Even Keanu Reaves didnt manage to pull it off, so what hope do guys who wear it have? :p

I see a guy walking to work everyday, even if the weather is scorching outside, wearing this coat, dark glasses and has a foot long pony tail. When he walks his arms dont swing either.

I know any day he will go on a gun toting rampage, shooting up the town and doom will get the blame.

I agree. I've always worn long coats but never a leather one. You have to have a very particular type of build/look to carry it off. Most people think they look really cool in them but they just look daft, they only would work on about 1% of people.

Couldn't agree more there - think you really need to be quite tall (over 6 foot) in order to sucessfully look  in one.

Otherwise its just stupid :p

i see a lot of people wearing them, especially at uni (doing computing course - probably explains a lot) but they dont look cool at all, in fact, some people look very stupid wearing them.

Yes, I think being tall and having a good build helps. If you were skinny or rakish it wouldn't work. A friend of mine had one but he was 5'8" and it looked a bit ridiculous.

When I see anybody wearing one of those (tend to be fat sysadmin types) I have to chukle and always have to say something like "there is no spoon" or the like :)
