Just ordered k850i through the crazy world of 02 upgrades services

Heres the tale, you can see my point...I want to stay on 12 month contract.

Call 1: Told im actually an offline customer since i got my last upgrade reserved in a shop (the elusive N73, over a year ago).

Shop: No, you are an online customer you should ring up.

Call 2: £30/month 200mins 400texts 1Mb - Handset £39.99
You can't order until 8th.

Shop: Told me their phones are coming in on 10th/11th

Internet: K850i available to new customers on 7th! Handset on equivilent tarrif to me £59.99!!!

Call 3: Last night i rang up to see whats going on. They tell me that the prices have come down! i say no, look in my notes from previous phone calls its 39.99..."no sir, the prices have actually come down"!!!!!!!!!!!!! This went on for some time and hung up.

Call 4: This morning, 8th, i got:

12 Month Contract
200mins ROLLOVER (actually have 700+ available at the moment)
500 texts
1Mb Data
FREE K850i
£30 month

I was also told in one call that Telefonica have taken over and so 02 do not offer anything other than the standard tariffs (all online for all to see) and the 02 treats are actually customer loyalty bonuses.
 
I got mine first call, unlimited texts, 600 mins, free k850i for £35 a month. Now the guy on the phone said it was a 12 month contract but the email confirmation said 18 months so i'm going to have to ring them back and double check

If thats true, I placed my order on Thursday night, so I should receive the phone before then.

If they tell me it's out of stock until the 15th I am cancelling the contract with them, as they lied to me by telling me they had it in stock.
 
I made a formal complaint and someone checked all the stores for me but the earliest is 15th, should recieve by 17th. Apparantly the k850i has a problem and 02 are not releasing it until it is sorted. Got £30 credited to my account to compensate so we'll just see what happens.
 
i was told from the start that it hadn't been released yet and it would take up to 10 working days, that was on sunday
 
Got mine this morning! Will have a play with it and post my opinions later...:D

I ordered mine today, two year contract though... so I will probably "have to" buy a new phone in a years time. Arrives Monday if I'm very lucky, if not just some time later in the week.
 
Just to add my story with this phone and 02

Been on a 12 Month offline contract, 200 cross-mins, £30 p/m (but with a £15 a month discount). Not bad.

Call 1: Tried for k850, offered 400 Mins, Free Phone but £30 p/m on 18 Month contact or £59.95 for £25 p/m on 200 Mins. I told them I would find a better deal as a new customer..

Browsed web, couldn't see any much better deals but on the 02 website online tariffs were slightly better for txts.

Call 2: Said I was annoyed as better online tariffs for new customers, no loyalty to existing customers etc. ;)

After a bit of mucking around got to Free Phone, 400 Cross-mins, 400 Texts, £30 p/m on 18 month - but - with a £10 discount per month = £20pm 400 mins free phone - RESULT :D
 
Thinking of going on contract and getting one of these to replace my S500i as i dont want to risk breaking the keypad again. Would like to know your view on the touch seistive keys like response etc. :)

I just rang up a moment ago and was told that I will have to ring up on the 17th as the phones were out of stock and I couldn't preorder. They didn't give me any deal either.

I’ve had a brief play with the phone. The touch sensitive keys are pretty easy to use once you get used to the position of them; at first I kept pressing 'up' on the d-pad. Also, I’m not overly keen on any of the installed themes and the actual keypad buttons and the layout of the d-pad did take a bit of getting used to.

Will post later once I’ve had a chance to use the phone properly…
 
O2 are a bunch of ripoff merchants - be very careful with the 'deals' they quote their existing customers, you have to actually threaten to cancel to get a decent deal (as we just found out).

My phone will be in silver/blue/black as it's all o2 have. Anyone gets a green one but wants a blue one, I'll swap! :p
 
I got mine today, chargin up. Its a little bigger than I thought but still looks good. Stylish cant wait to try the fone out.
