I'm considering getting the 40X2000, there is a deal on the HS to get the TV a HDD 1080 DVD player with 5yr warranty for around £1700

I can get them both on-line for around £1500, is the 5yr warranty worth the £200?

Also I know there is a new model coming out at the end of the month, will the X2000 see a drop in price?

Thanks.

Hmm, I think the new model will come in at over £2k from what the guy in the store was saying. This is why I was wondering about price drops.

Also can you explain 24p?

Right, had a look on the wiki and I get the idea behind 24p but I would like to see it in action before parting with around what seems to be around £1000 for the next model up that supports it (40X3500 I think the 3000 does aswell), is it really worth that much?

And 100hz is said to be good for sports (which I don't particularly watch), but is there any difference in games? Does 100hz work at 1080p?

Yea I noticed the X2000's age, thing is I really dislike the glossy finish most of these LCD's have and i've noticed that the Bravia's have a matte finish, which is nice.

But that Samsung is at least £200 cheaper than what i've seen the X2000 for, hmmm... I may wait to see the price of the X3500. I imagine most people would take the LE40F86BDX over the X2000. Thoughts?

This is the exact question I had - I imagine most people would take the LE40F86BDX over the X2000. Thoughts?

any thoughts guys?

Take the x3500, we have a 46X3500 and I have never seen a LCD as good as it ever. Read the reviews in USA, most of them say its the best LCD you can get. Well worth every penny we paid.

Edit: going to shove my Xbox 360 Elite I just got on it when I get back. I plugged in my PC to it via HDMI and played 1080p movies and I was taken aback! Tempted to go buy a PS3 now as well! We got the TV for £2500 with 5 year guarantee.

x2000 is a great TV - But I would wait and get a W3000 - As it also has a HD Freeview tuner built in :)

Yeah, but it disappeared in a few days. hardly an issue tbh, I think it's just people making an issue out of nothing!

Every LCD I have owned (be it a laptop or LCD TV) has this phenoma and it disappears in a few days...now the black looks utter gorgeous...believe me when I tell you I have not seen a LCD TV with the quality this baby has...if you read reviews in USA they all say its one of (and if not) the best LCD TV on the consumer market...but that's what you get if you're willing to pay ;)

Does anyone know if they still have the clouding issue on these new ones?

possibly

but we're not sure. Ive got a samung (it uses the same latest generation S-LCD panel as the sony) and that suffers from backlight bleeding, which is very similar to clouding, except that clouding is random and patchy and all over the place, bleeding is usually only on the edges.
