G92 Specs revealed:)

But the amount of extra power allowed to be drawn can lead to significantly more powerful cards. Although they will probably need water cooling. But thats probably a while off.

Always wondered if an PCiexpress 2.0 card would perform better then its 1.1 counterpart ?

I guess its something we will have to wait and see.

Bascially refresh on the G80 range. Means the 9800's won't be coming anytime soon.

The new GTX has absoloutely nothing that would make me sell my current GTX for one. :)

And quite right too. You would be mad. The new one might overclock slightly more so you might get 1 to 5% gain max so who is going to take a hit on selling their 8800GTX to get the new one for that gain? With the money lost in swapping, you might as well bought the Ultra in the first place.

However I can see my EVGA 8800 GTS 320Mb going up for sale.......

Nvidia doesn't seem to be under much pressure from ATI at the moment so I guess they can afford to sit back and sell the 8800s at a solid margin before bringing out anything new.

According to DigiTimes, citing unnamed sources at graphics card makers, the launch of Nvidia's 8800 GT has been brought forward from November 12, to October 29. The site noted that the earlier launch will give the company "an advantage" over the RV670, which shares a tight performance/price ratio.

Editors note: In case you're wondering why we re-reported a date we already knew - turns out that an array of sites reported an incorrect date of November 12. So rest assured, our original October release is correct, and has now been confirmed.

While the 8800GT remains an unofficial product, the board does indeed exist. According to VR-Zone, the G92 core will be clocked at 600MHz, while the memory will operate at 900MHz. The board will be available in 256 or 512 MB flavors, and reportedly score 10,769 in 3Dmark 06. The new GT is nine inches long, and single-slot.
