I am certain some people in here are so blinded by the 360 they can't even read. He says he had one, had loads of games, didn't want it anymore, yet you still tell him to get another one? Weird. Read the thread properly.

True. But the argument against that is that the PS3 has a very weak list of exclusive games at the moment, and the vast majority of ported games are also poorer. However, if he's willing to take the hit, then he could do a lot worse than a Playstation3.

The multi-platform games are only poorer if you have the choice of buying them on both platforms. I think the majority of people who own either a 360 (11mill) or PS3 (4mill?) do not own both, so this is not an issue for them.

Regardless, people have made him aware of the above on page 1 of the thread, yet people are still saying get a 360 on page 2. Bizarre.

that is all.

The guy doesnt already have a 360 so you can rule out the exclusives argument.

Most of the ports are slightly under par in relation to the 360 but thats minor and only picky souls will notice any difference at all. You can only play one game at a time anyway and the current games catalogues along with the up and coming releases are more than enough to keep him going - so no hit to be taken here then.

I think the argument is really if he's had a 360 and not enjoyed it, with it's better games catalgue then there's very little chance he'd get much out of owning a PS3.

All we can really do is talk about exclusive PS3 titles (as multiplat he'll have played on the 360) and as it stands the three latest; Lair, Heavenly Sword, Folklore have all massively underdelivered.

You also need to consider Motorstorm, RFOM, Warhawk & F1 CE. Then you've got Haze, Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank & GT5 Prologue - all coming soon. Thats without all the games available on the PSN.

Folklore has been quoted as being great for fans of the genre and Heavenly Sword is a great game imho.

How many games can one person play at once ?

Indeed, I posted before he said he owned a 360 in the past with 49 games. If that wasn't good enough then a PS3 isn't really going to be any different, is it?

But, if you're looking to spend money, want a console and don't want to buy a 360 again then just get the PS3. It is a cracking piece of kit, a great Bluray player and is only going to get better on the games front.

The PS3 is much more than games machine though - if all he wants to do is to play games then I really dont know why he got rid of his 360.

Where is the OP anyway ? - is he just sitting back laughing at the arguments now ? :D

But being honest it couldn't get any worse. I mean the only game that made me want to sit and play after completing the launch titles (Motorstorm etc) was Heavenly Sword which is a cracking game, if not only for a rent. I think I completed it in 2 sittings. I tried the Ratchet demo this morning and wasn't too impressed with that either.

I just hope the good games start coming out shortly for it, because the 360 has just had an influx of cracking titles in the past month and there is nothing but shoddy ports for the PS3 (bar Heavenly Sword.) Key example of a shoddy port being GRAW2 I mean WTF was that about.

I maybe wrong but I just hope the good games for the PS3 come out, because I'm afraid the console war has ended before its even started.

It's worth noting that it's entirely possible that the OP will love the PS3 despite not really liking the 360 and the 49 games that he had with it. There's plenty of people out there like that.

Aye that is true, I suppose if your a HD fan then it is worth the price of a ps3 just for the blu-ray player which I think is fantastic.

Twaddle. You forgot Motorstorm, RFOM, Warhawk & F1 CE. Then you've got Haze, Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank & GT5 Prologue - all coming soon. Thats without all the games available on the PSN.
He said "3 latest", in which case he was absolutely right, as those were the 3 latest exclusive games.

Yeah I dunno, I was just trying not to push the 360 too much but if it was me I'd get the 360 :p

PS3 always doubles up as a HD and Blu ray, dvd upscaling player. Does internet browsing, Wireless Media streaming and a ton of other things as well that none of the others can ever do as media center or gaming console.

Games wise its weak right now ofcourse but it hasnt even been out for a year whereas the 360 has had the advantage of two years but still nowhere near what the PS2 selection was.

360 has a much more narrow selection, with a stronger focus on shooters and older rated titles. For racers, RPG, adventure, platforming etc. You would be better off with a PS3 over the next couple of years as Sony have much more success with variety of games compared to Nintendo and MS. Even moreso if you have a pc.

You've said this a few times but I think it's a daft point to make. With having a lot of good games at once you've got a variety of games to pick from. Having that variety stops you playing a game so much it becomes boring (which can happen to even the best of games). Having a break and playing something else can really extend the lifespan of a title as you often go back to it a month or two later and remember just how good it is.
